Ok I thought it would be nice to give you all our Pre trip report. We are getting ready to start packing and I said before I do that I have to tell the members of the Passporter some history on our Big trip plan. I should tell you who I am traveling with. Husband, Dad..Darin Me Wife, mom...Megan Son Zachary is 5 Son Spencer is 4 I am not sure how to start this so here is goes. A walk back in time. In 1999 My husband surprised me with a trip to Disney and popped the Question. Which I said yes to. In 2000 we got married and asked the family to go to Disney in May of 2001. So we went to Disney and told the family that we had a baby on the way. So most of my Big adult moments have happened in Disney. Now lets jump ahead. In 2004 right after my son Spencer was born my son Zachary was in a accident he was only 2. He was taken into the OR and put into a body cast. For 6 weeks he was in hell. Then he got out and years of care after that followed. He is now a normal 5 year old boy. But in the mean time my son Spencer almost lost his life due his kidneys not working at all. After a long stay in the ICU and yes a miracle happened and both kidneys came back. No reason behind it. So we have paid off all our medical bills moved into a new house and I do something off the wall with out asking my husband. I book a Big Disney trip. I must say he was not upset he was all for it once I told him. I just think my family could really use it. So I book a 4 day WDW trip and a 4 night cruise. Our 1st cruise ever. I booked this on Feb. 16 2006. And hoped we would have no medical things happen in the next 18 months. Well we made it. No problems all in great health and only 23 days left to we set to the friendly sky. My boys are bouncing off the wall. I tell people we really need this trip. My family is due for happy times X 10. So after hours of shopping and getting the ok from the Dr. we are ready to pack. 1st problem jumps up we have never traveled with kids before and need more suite case's. So grandma runs out and buys us a whole new set. And Bright RED. I love them. We then take the kids out for new summer wear and for us too. Then my husband gets put on nights because building is so slow and they drop his pay 5 dollars an hour. Our Trip might not happen now. We can not afford the spending money the rest of it is already paid for. So I ask my Husband if we should call it off and he says NO. He was not going to have to tell the kids we are not going. So we stick it out. Thank God for big refunds. So now we have our spending money and are ready to start packing. We got time off of work and got the teachers ok from school so we are ready for our 1st family trip. We are know talking about packing and do not want to take alot of extra stuff. We have found out we do have to take car seats. Hugh.....they eat up so much room. This forum has been a big help with passing the time and love the trip reports. so I just wanted to give you all a little histroy of our family before I get to write my very own trip report. So any last min. Advice go ahead and give it. Even if it is just about making it thru the airport. We can use all the help we can get. And look for our trip report right after mothers day. I should have told you we will be sailing on mothers day. What a great gift.

Wow, I really like stories with happy endings! You and your family should have a great time on your trip -- you certainly deserve it after all you've been through. As far as tips, be sure to bring books, electronic games, or whatever else might occupy your kids on the plane. You may also want to bring snacks to eat at the airport, on the plane, in the parks, and on the cruise. (Be aware, though, that you can't bring packaged food that's been opened back into the U.S.) Have a great trip! Melissa

To help with the "How many days?" question, I made a paper chain with one link for each day until our trip. Each night at bedtime we tore one link off the chain. One year I had my son tell me each night one thing he wanted to do during our trip, which I wrote on that night's link to help us remember it.
