| Just catching up, and I'm loving this report! I'm glad that everything has gone so well, especially after a somewhat stressful start. ![]() When I first read that they guy said that you would have to sleep in a coffin since your bed was broken, I was like, "Um, whoa, weird sense of humor there, dude." But after reading on, yeah, that would have been pretty funny to wake up surrounded by Sleep Number Foam and basically lying on the floor. Not quite as funny as the sleepy pirate picture, though. ![]() I can't wait to hear more about the ship - your room looks great! And congrats on trying the corn dog - I mean, is there a more perfect food out there? Hot dog wrapped in corn bread, on a stick??? ![]()

| You're on board and I feel right at home with you! How funny - I hadn't even thought about how you guys were on board the same ship just a couple of weeks before we boarded it.

| Sail away, Part 2! Part 2... Soon it was getting close to 4:00, time for the Safety Drill! But first, an announcement from Rachel, our cruise director. It seemed there was a refueling issue, and the Magic was not going to sail at 5 PM as promised. The sail-away party would go on, but we would be delayed leaving port. We would be setting sail at around 6 PM. At 4 PM, the bells sounded, the buzzer buzzed, and we donned our stylish life vests and headed to our assigned area (Animator's Palate) for our planned evacutaion drill. Of course, Steve filmed the entire drill. He was thinking about donating it to Disney for their safety training. A fashion statement: ![]() Maybe I should wear this to formal night! ![]() I guess we passed the drill test, because we were free to head back to our room. It was about 4:30, and we headed up to Deck 9 for the SailAway party. Steve got us both Bahama Mamas (the drink of the day), and this was taken BEFORE he even finished his (you can see the glass in his hand!): ![]() The show began with dancing, singing, laughter and a few happy tears, especially when that horn sounded! A few characters: ![]() We were docked next to a Carnival ship. There was no deck party, no singing, no laughter and no great horn on that ship. The cruisers were watching us live it up, looking very envious . However, at 5 PM, they sailed out to sea and we still sat there. Harumph.Sometime between the party and the first Bahama Mama, I realized that we were not in Animator's Palate tonight. Me: "Uh, honey....?" Steve: "Yes?" Me: "We can eat tonight." Steve: "Uh.....ooooookkkkkayyyyy.....???" Me: "Yea....Parrot Cay has windows. We will see us sail away. I had my restaurants confused." It's almost embarrassing to admit that me, the master planner, had gotten such an important detail messed up! We arrived at Parrot Cay and were escorted to Table 9. We sat at our table for 8...all alone! ) and they told us they had opted to explore the ship tonight. We asked them to relay to them that we were at Palo tomorrow night and wouldn't be there, either, so they didn't think we left! So we had a romantic dinner for 2! We ordered drinks, and before they even arrived, we looked out the big porthole window we were seated by, and...WE ARE MOVING!!! Steve filmed us heading out to sea. It was about 5:45 and we were ON VACATION!!!Steve had prime rib, and I had caribbean chicken. Steve's was so good, he had a second helping:![]() Dessert: Lemon Meringue Pie: Key Lime Cheesecake: ![]() After dinner, we took a walk on deck. I snapped this shot of the sunset: ![]() We went over to Studio Sea to play Mickey Mania, a Disney Trivia game. I knew alot of the answers, but the teams were made up of families. Still, it was alot of fun! We headed back to the room. We were calling it an early night tonight because we had a busy day tomorrow. We had a wonderful magnetic sign to put on our door, courtesy of a very special friend! (Thanks, Lynn! ) And we had received a Castaway Club magnetic door sign in our tote, so both those were on our door for ease of finding it after a night of partying. So when we got back to the room, we were surprised to see two more signs on our door:![]() We were not on points, but they recognized us as DVC members anyway! ![]() The whole door: ![]() Inside, our first towel animal awaited us: ![]() We were soon fast asleep. Our first full day of adventure awaited us! Next: Some fishies, a lighthouse and a cheeseburger in Paradise!
