Who: Myself 38 DH 33 DD 5 (almost 6) My mother 64 (but don’t tell her I told)
What: 7 night Land and Sea package (4 park days/3 sea days)
When: November 10th thru November 18th
Why: I need to visit Mickey at least once a year.
I have been on Passporter for a couple years now. I love the community, support and information shared here. In the beginning of this year my DH, DD and I sold all of our stuff and got into our motorhome and decided to travel around the country and visit family. I mean no jobs, no future, just drive around and figure it out.
We headed from Madison WI to Orlando Fl. We spent a couple days at Ft. Wilderness. We did more traveling and decided we were going back to Ft. Wilderness in November for our vacation. We did more traveling. I ended up getting offered my old job back in Washington State. (thank goodness) We moved to Spokane in June.
After looking at the damage financially from our extended road trip and the logistics of driving from Washington State to Florida, it seemed impossible. Trip cancelled. Sadness and devastation.
My mother had decided a few years ago, that as much as she loves cruising, she doesn’t like doing it alone. So her plan was every couple of years take one of her 4 kids and their families on a cruise. With a little pixie dust and being the baby of the family…Mom decided even though it was short notice, this could be our year. Balloons drop, I hand her a certificate proving she is in fact the greatest mother EVER.
We picked a week that worked for all of us. That would be November 10-18
I won’t believe this trip is actually happening until we get there, it has been so on again off again.
I am sitting here about 10 days away, with lists of things to do, calls to make and things to pack. I have a good lot of it done. After we get through trick or treating tomorrow night then I can really get excited about it all.
Things we are looking forward to: My daughter can’t wait to get back on Test Track. My husband can’t wait to eat again at Le Cellier and have gluten-free Mickey Waffles, my mom I think is most excited about the cruise, and I am just happy to be going back. We are so lucky to have a wonderful place to go on vacation, where we know enough that it feels like home, but something new every time to make every trip so special.
(I know this is a land and sea cruise, but wanted to post on both places...if anyone has any complaints, I will just post the cruise part here)
I know next week at this time I will be so excited I can't stand it or sleep.
I have a hard work wee ahead and know that more stuff will be piled on so just so I can get the time off.
I ordered gifts for the stateroom for my mom and my daughter. I have a pile/stack of stuff that needs to go with us. Packing is easy. I am still trying to find some Disney coloring books for the plane ride and some other little knicky knack things.
Have to clean the house and eat the food in the fridge. Leaving the cool fall temps here in the Pacific NW to 80 degree days Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.
Can't wait to feel that sand in my toes at Castaway Cay.
I am very very excited. I keep thinking a week from right now we will be in WS getting a last taste of the F&W festival before we get set up to watch Reflections.
