| WONDER Trip: Jan 3-6 Observations Great, but quick, trip on Wonder! Some hints to make your trip more enjoyable: 1. First, pack Bonine! Our first night at sea had 20-foot waves. The ship was easy enough to walk on, but was so glad I had the "secret weapon" easily available to me. 2. The interior staterooms are very dark, due to lack of port hole. The clocks provided are not visible from bed. I wished I had my LED display clock, as I had no concept of time when I awoke. 3. Be prepared and remember that this is Disney. There are a lot of rude people on board, so be patient with them and take the high road. Also, it is not possible to see all the shows and movies and enjoy dinner, so prioritize and then relax and enjoy. My favorite night was the last night at sea, watching my son swim in Goofy's pool while enjoying the ocean breezes and a glass of wine and the huge TV. 4. Don't fret about clothing. People wear anything and fit right in. Also, please bring a fleece and other clothing that can be layered. Even if weather is excellent, the winds create a chill. 5. Stay out of the way of Philip (not sure his role on the ship but first encountered him outside Beach Blanket Buffet and at other times on Deck 9); he's a bit high maintenance. 6. Castaway Cay is on island time. We rented bikes and the Aqua Trike, which rent for a fee per hour (bikes) and per half hour (boats). No one timed us or cared when we brought them back in. 7. If planning to mail something from Castaway Cay, do it on the way TO the beach and not on your return (crew gave conflicting times on post office's closing time and post was closed on my return to ship). Only postage accepted is Bahamian. 8. Goofy's Gallery (food on Deck 9) also serves veggie burgers! 9. Bring a notepad with a magnet on the back (Target or Dollar Store) and attach to your stateroom door for leaving messages for others in your party. Enjoy! | Thank you! We leave in just a few weeks, so this is timely information. Especially on the bike info, we plan on doing both the water trik and island paths. The Philip info is interesting... i'll be watching name tags and try not to giggle and say "OH... you're Philip!" teeheeheehee. Blessings! |
