Earkid’s Excellent Panama Canal Cruise Adventure May 10-25, 2008 **Updated 7/19** COMPLETE

What a dream vacation! I had just finished chemo for breast cancer when we heard that the Disney Magic would be coming through the Panama Canal again. When we saw the dates we knew we would have to be there since it would allow us to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary in a grand fashion. I would also be celebrating my 45th birthday. We mentioned the cruise to some friends and they decided to join us. Later we found out several more internet friends would be on the cruise as well…..when we finally boarded the ship there were 14 of us travelling together. For many of us it was our first Disney Cruise but we did have a few seasoned veterans to show us the way.
Now, after culling through 1700+ pictures I am slowly getting a trip report together. I won’t post it all here, just a few highlights. To see many more pics and commentary please go to my Smugmug page (also linked in my sig): Earkid's photos- powered by SmugMug
The pictures don’t even begin to document all the fun we had. For example, we have very few pics of the evening shows since we typically sat toward the back and pictures just didn’t turn out clear. But I hope you enjoy some of the memories of our dream vacation.

Our Party: Shayne (turning 45 on the cruise), Kevin (44, turning 45 soon) both Disneyland AP holders for many years.
Our Cruise: May 10-25, 2008 for the Westbound repo, our first Disney Cruise, flying from Phoenix to Orlando.
Our Stateroom: Cat. 6 veranda, room# 6560.

May 10
Our chariot awaits:

A good view of the backside of the beautiful terminal from our veranda window.

I instantly noticed the small Disney details in our room.

Shayne and Anne wish you Bon Voyage

We enjoyed the sailaway party

Our first towel animal

A lazy sea day

The best thing about a lazy sea day is having time to get to know the ship

Animators Palette and cute servers

And chocolate

Good morning Aruba!

Anyone see a Disney ship around here?

We ARE in Aruba………..right?

Time to helmet dive!

Time to relax on the beach.

Even stars have to wait for the elevator sometimes.

Thanks Chezp! It was fun to have two formal nights as well as a semi-formal. But we tended to dress up when ever we felt like it. It was fun to see a lot of people dressed up on this cruise. It really made it feel special.

I'll be back to post more tomorrow. Thanks for your kind comments.

Wonderful photos! Too bad we didn't get to meet on board, but it looks like you had plenty of fun company. What a memorable cruise.
