| Earkid’s Excellent Panama Canal Cruise Adventure May 10-25, 2008 **Updated 7/19** COMPLETE What a dream vacation! I had just finished chemo for breast cancer when we heard that the Disney Magic would be coming through the Panama Canal again. When we saw the dates we knew we would have to be there since it would allow us to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary in a grand fashion. I would also be celebrating my 45th birthday. We mentioned the cruise to some friends and they decided to join us. Later we found out several more internet friends would be on the cruise as well…..when we finally boarded the ship there were 14 of us travelling together. For many of us it was our first Disney Cruise but we did have a few seasoned veterans to show us the way. Now, after culling through 1700+ pictures I am slowly getting a trip report together. I won’t post it all here, just a few highlights. For example, we have very few pics of the evening shows since we typically sat toward the back and pictures just didn’t turn out clear. But I hope you enjoy some of the memories of our dream vacation.  Our Party: Shayne (turning 45 on the cruise), Kevin (44, turning 45 soon) both Disneyland AP holders for many years. Our Cruise: May 10-25, 2008 for the Westbound repo, our first Disney Cruise, flying from Phoenix to Orlando. Our Stateroom: Cat. 6 veranda, room# 6560. May 10 Our chariot awaits:  A good view of the backside of the beautiful terminal from our veranda window.  I instantly noticed the small Disney details in our room.  Shayne and Anne wish you Bon Voyage  We enjoyed the sailaway party  Our first towel animal

| May 12 May 12 Palo Brunch – all 14 of us  The food and atmosphere is just amazing  Specialty pizzas  Holy cow, how will I have room for all the desserts I want to eat?  Full and happy!  Formal night!!

| May 13 May 13 A lazy sea day  The best thing about a lazy sea day is having time to get to know the ship  Animators Palette and cute servers  And chocolate

| May 14 May 14 Good morning Aruba!  Anyone see a Disney ship around here?  We ARE in Aruba………..right?  Time to helmet dive!   Time to relax on the beach.  Even stars have to wait for the elevator sometimes.

| May 15 May 15 Breakfast in Lumiere’s by a porthole.  Meeting Captain Thord  My birthday dinner in Lumeiere’s. I love this light fixture.  My birthday cake  We’ve arrived at Cristobal, Panama. Tomorrow is the day we’ve been waiting for!

| May 16 Panama Canal Day Part 1 May 16 Our first view of all the activity around the Canal  The sub that made us late into the locks.  Old French canal on the right, current canal on the left  A closer view  Into the first lock with the help of a waving Mickey hand  The ships behind us are lining up for their turn  Heading under the Centennial Bridge

| May 16 Panama Canal Day Part 2 May 16 Part 2 We caught up to the sub at the Pedro Miguel Lock.  The lock beside us rapidly filling up  So close to the walls. The view from a deck 3 porthole.  Resting on the way to the final set of locks, the Mira Flores locks.  Panama City  Under the Bridge of the Americas and into the Pacific  Yea! Our Ducky Williams litho was waiting on our beds after dinner

| Love seeing the pictures! It's great to travel with a group....I can't seem to convince anyone else in my family to cruise with us...
