| 2008 Thanksgiving Cruise - Western Carribean w/2 stops at Castaway Cay. Dad - 38 Mom-39 Daughter-7 Son-4 Wanted to let everyone know what a great time we had on the Pirate Encounter excursion at Grand Cayman. There doesn't seem to be much feedback on this excursion so I thought I would chime in to give a positive review. A small shuttle boat takes about 25 people on a short trip to board the "Jolly Roger." There were 4 personnel - 3 male and 1 female "pirates" - all of which were friendly and immersed themselves in their pirate characters. Rum and regular punch were served and included in the cost. We cruised around the Magic and Carnival Destiny, firing blank shots from the Roger's small cannon and enjoying the "pirate" lingo. The kids were then treated to a brief swabbing of the deck followed by a dousing of sea water. One of the kids mother's was then tied (lightly) to the mast and "convicted" of treason. Subsequently, she was doused with a bucket of ice-laden sea water. The kids loved it! We then anchored for about 30 minutes and were free to jump off the plank (and the top of the boat) and swim in the turqoise waters. Great for people who aren't afraid to get wet, like to have fun and enjoy swimming. Probably not for little bitty kids - my 4 year old was a little frightened by the cannon and is not quite ready to swim. Out of 5 cruises, this is the most fun I've had on an excursion! | While we were anchored in Grand Cayman and in our stateroom, I kept hearing these "Bangs"... it took me quite a while before I realized it was the "Pirate Ship" shooting it's cannon at us! I thought that looked like it would be a lot of fun!

| We were on that cruise and I wanted to take that excursion but our 10 yr old isn't too keen on getting wet. We saw the pirate ship circling the Magic. It sounds like a lot of fun. We opted for the submarine ride but I will definitely look in to this one the next time! |

| Would you recommend this excursion for an adult without kids along?
