I went to St. Croix several years back. I had a friend who was from there and I went home with her, so I had a local to take me to beaches and show me around. The weather was beautiful and it did have some pretty beaches, the water was gorgeous. I did a resort scuba dive and was able to see lots of fish and corral. There is shopping and the town right off of where the ships dock if I remember correctly. I enjoyed my stay there, there wasn't a huge amount of things to do, but it was really peaceful.

St. Croix Cruise

We just returned from the January 3-10, St. Croix Cruise. Not to put a damper on your vacation if that is where you are going, but everyone we talked to on the ship was very disappointed in St. Croix. We had friends that went over to Christiansted, and even said that it was not worth it. We ended up getting back on the ship and enjoyed the day on the ship. The only good thing I heard was people who went scuba diving and snorkling, they said it was beautiful. But other than that, I would never choose that itinerary. Fredericksted (where you dock) is very run down and not that much to do. The public beach there was full of broken glass, broken shells, and dirty....not many people went there.

On a good note (which I learned from cast members) is that apparently some of the Disney crew members volunteer their time to community service to help out. The island was damaged a great deal by a hurricane a few years back and they are trying to boost the economy.

We still had a great trip. Disney Magic was everywhere.
