| The sail-away sounds so neat! Got chills reading about the horn blowing When You Wish Upon a Star. I can't wait for my first cruise - and it will definitely be a Disney cruise!

| As soon as we were out to sea around 5:30 or so, Emily asked to visit the Oceaneer's Club. For some reason, this triggered a meltdown from Katie (on a scale of 1-5, I would give it a 2). Now that I think about it, I think Katie knew enough about the cruise that she might have misinterpreted our visit as me wanting to leave her there. I calmly (and I did try my best to remain calm) told Katie we were going to look around and she had no choice but to come with us. There were three or four counselors there and it was just open visiting- as they weren't officially open for the kids activities until 6:00. We were warmly welcomed and invited to look around. I spotted two bean bags and told Katie to park herself there. To my surprise she did. While Katie was "chilling"- Emily and I looked around. Emily had been very initially hesitant about leaving me- but a few minutes in here and she couldn't wait to come back. She played on the ship simulator for awhile: ![]() She also was thrilled with the computer lab/station: ![]() I found the entire place absolutely awesome- I especially loved the kitchen type area where I am sure lots of cool things would be taking place. ![]() When we went back to Katie, she had gone from grumpy preteenager to happy passenger once again: ![]() On our way out, we asked about the Dine and Play- this a relatively new offering for families at the late seating. All I had to do was ask our server to expedite Emily's meal so she would be ready to meet the counselor and go to the Oceaneer's Lab at 9:00 pm. Emily immediately asked to do it- and I was so pleased she was going to give it a go. By this time it was almost 5:45 and we decided to see some characters before heading off to the Golden Mickeys show. The characters out at this time were Minnie and Pluto in their sailing attire. Course, Katie had to meet Miss Minnie first- for some reason, I am missing a pic but love the one of Emily and Minnie: ![]() Then we all had our picture taken with the Divine Miss M: ![]() Out of that line and over to see Pluto right nearby! ![]() I learned over the course of the cruise that characters were really easy to find and greet-if you knew where they were. Our plan quickly became to use the Navigator to look at the schedule of character appearances and get there early. It worked.. all the time. Very rarely did we wait more than 10 minutes for a character greeting. And a few times we were first in line as a result and it made for some magical memories. (Details on this later!) It was absolutely fabulous. On our way out of the atrium lobby, Emily hopped behind the Ariel Statue for a fun little photo: ![]() We headed upstairs to find good seats for The Golden Mickeys. Katie and Emily were both looking forward to this and I was very much anxious to see it for a second time. Lights! Camera! Action! Coming Up Next: The first FAB ...

| I'm anxious to hear how the Dine and Play went. It seems like a great idea on DCL's part. Love all the pictures of your girls, especially the one of happy passenger Katie on the bean bags.

| OK, now I know how Emily got tagged: "The Divine Miss Em"! She is just so happy and full of energy... I'm sure she has... uhhhh... shall we say, lesser moments? But she is coming across as a great little lady in all these pics! Katie looked Oh so comfy on the bean bags.

| Great update! I love the photo of Emily and Minnie and in the group photo Katie has a very sweet smile on her face as she looks at Minnie. The kids' area looks amazing. Do they allow people without kids to look around just to see what's there? I'd love to see it all so I could report back to friends with kids.
