| Sounds like a wonderful dinner! Those pull-down bunk beds look very cool! I've never seen a picture of those before.

| Friday, May 8, 2009 I had no intention of rising early or waking the girls to do so for that matter. However, I was delighted when I opened my eyes to see us coming into Nassau. I scrambled out of bed and stood by the porthole for a bit just to watch. This is where a balcony really, really stands apart- taking it in in the open air is really a lovely way to start the day. Of course, I could have set an alarm and gotten us all up on deck in time to watch but after the late night last night- I wasn't asking that of any of us. The plan for this morning was just some pool time. The girls were up soon after and we all got dressed, lathered on the sunscreen (I went for the SPF 80) and threw on the cover ups. First stop, was Beach Blanket Buffet for some breakfast. The camera stayed in the bag but we all essentially went for the same things: Mickey Waffles, fruit, bacon and pastries. It was all very, very good. The pool was a bit busy but it was clear a large number of folks were already off the ship in Nassau. The girls wanted to skip the Goofy pool and stay at the Mickey pool today. Katie and Emily immediately went for the slide and this time I headed up to Deck 10 and positioned myself perfectly to get much better pics of them coming down. For your reading pleasure, A Tale of Two Slides. Katie's take: "This has some uumph to it but here I go...." ![]() Or the "Oh my, maybe if I close my eyes, I'll like it more???" ![]() Both of the girls loved it though and went over and over again. I wandered around Deck 10 while they were doing that. ![]() As I wandered a bit, I noticed a different looking ship also docked in Nassau- it was the Semester at Sea Explorer. My friend Brandi's (BeatlesBran) cousin Ashley spent last spring aboard this very ship and I was very excited to get a close up look at her digs! ![]() I headed back down to Deck 9, found a chair and made myself comfortable with a magazine. About 11:30, the girls came and found me, asking to go to Quarter Masters (the arcade) and I was anxious for a break from the sun (gorgeous as it was- you couldn't fault it..). We had a good time in there and I dropped $25 in no time between the two gamers of mine. ![]() ![]() Coming Up Next: That's really blue....
