| What a great start Maureen...the girls look so excited and I am glad you were able to get the upgrade (I think I would need a window as well). Can't wait to hear all about the cruise once you board.

| Okay, I'm back!  We were in line for Goofy, and right as we got up to him, I heard our boarding number (2) being called! Goofy was lots of fun though and the pics turned out as good as I thought they would.  Okay ladies, start your engines- we are almost aboard! By the time we got to the gangway entrance, we were in a wee bit of a line so I told Emily to turn around one last time before we boarded. She's a bit excited don't ya think?  Almost there! As soon as we approached, a CM spotted me trying to take a picture of the girls and offered to do it for us- the lighting was weird but at least we have one!  And then on we went! The girls looked confused when they saw the embarkation photo set up but went along with it all- we had the pic taken (which didn't turn out all that great) and then up to the gangway we went. Cruise Director Ray was waiting for us and we were announced in. My girls were absolutely enchanted.. both pairs of eyes were huge. Emily, especially was grinning ear to ear. Our greeter was Neville from South Africa and I asked him if he wouldn't mind to take a photo with Emily- since Katie had gotten a bit shy. He was extremely friendly and said he'd be honored.  Our first order of business was lunch so we headed up to Beach Blanket Buffet. Since my first Disney Cruise was sans-kids, I didn't realize there wasn't much on the buffet for kids- in fact, both of the girls found very little besides some fruit and dessert- they needed chicken nuggets, so they tell me. Beach Blanket Buffet did serve it's purpose though- we got Katie trained on how to get her tray and silverware and move through the line. Since this would be our breakfast spot each day, this was good stuff to know. I had taken a few things of the buffet and I was very proud, the girls were content to at least allow me to finish that off and wait for me. Emily remarked how pretty "and shiny" everything was.  The plan was to go to Pluto's Dog House to get kid friendly food but once they caught sight of the Goofy pool, the plan immediately changed to swimming. We found a restroom and changed (all of us- including me, which I never should have done- more on this later..) We were changed and poolside so quick, I am proud to say Emily and Katie christened the Goofy pool on the 5/7/09 sailing on the Wonder. I keep waiting for my commemorative statue and plaque but it hasn't shown up yet.   Katie was totally enamored with Ariel-Vision- A Bug's Life was already playing when we got there:  They both had a wonderful time in there- about 20 minutes or so, then asked to move to Mickey. So we did. And that was even better I think for them, which surprised me. I think the whimsy of it had special appeal to Katie. They tried out the slide as well but the initial pics I got weren't that great so I made a note to try out some better vantage points later. After about an hour in the pool areas, Katie came and asked for lunch, so I got them set up with that kid friendly fare of fries, nuggets and hot dogs. Emily came with me and when I took the food, she looked mortified- had her hand over her mouth and then said, "Mom, what are you doing??? You have to PAY!" I reminded her that on a cruise food was included. "What? What? It's free???" By this point, I was laughing so hard I could barely answer her. "No, Emily, it isn't free- we just pretty much paid for it in advance." Ahhh, clarification.  They dug into that food like starving little baby birds- Emily was unusually quiet too- that's how you know she's really hungry.  Coming Up Next: That's some window!
