Smile Ten Disney filled days.....3 at the parks the Disney Magic for 7

We just returned from a ten day vacation May 6- May 16 and I thought that I would share some thoughts with all of you. First off let me tell you who was involved. My family included my dh, myself, my dd (10) and my ds (5). We also had friends with two boys ages 3 and 5. We flew out on May 6 at 6am and arrived into MCO at about 11 or so. My family headed off to the magical express only to find that it had switched sides of the teminal ok family to the other side. While we were standing in line waiting for our bus, my dh cell phone rang. It was our dog sitter in VT. Our 14 week old puppy was getting kicked out of her pet sitters house.... YUGH!!!! What are we suppose to do now???? We are miles and miles away. It appears that my puppy had been up all night barking. Well of corse she was upset, she had never been away from us. Well, after many tears and phone calls we arrived at pop century still without a plan for my puppy. Oh yea, did I mention that this day was also my anniversary. It has to get better right??? Check in at pop was quick. I had not done online check in, and I must say that the line was longer for those who had done online check in. I walked right up to the counter without a wait. NOw, we had never stayed at pop before and so far I was extreemly impressed. We had a non perfered room in the 50's building. AWESOME location. First floor. Our room was even ready. Bonus!!
We headed to our room to change because we were suppose to meet the rest of the group at Blizzard Beach. They were staying off property in their time share at Liki Tiki. Once changed we headed to the bus. THe phone rang again and it was my mom saying that she would drive to VT and take over caring for my puppy. THANK YOU MOM!!! I dont think that she was extreemly happy about it, but we really had no other choice at this point. Ok, with that crisis behind us, we spent a great afternoon at BB. I have to admitt that usually I am not a go to the water parks on the first day kind of gal, but the kids really wanted a day at a water park this trip and this really worked out well. I will have to consider this for future trips. That night we headed back to pop and had dinner in the food court. The next am was a emh at Magic Kingdom so we had plans. Prior to leaving I asked each person to tell me two attractions that they had to do. Our plan was easy. Frontier Land here we come...... On THursday we meet up with the rest of the gang and spent the day at MK dinner at Trails End and then fireworks at EPCOT. Friday was just us and we spent the am at DS and then the pm at EPCOT again. We really enjoyed doing the Kim Possible adventure. It was a great way to get the kids involved in the world showcase. Ok kids of to bed, I have to pack we are heading the the Disney Magic tommorrow....

Sorry about the rough start, glad everything worked out ok. Sounds like you had a great few days at WDW before heading over for the cruise. I was thinking about heading to a WP on our first day (we arrive around 11 am as well), glad it worked out well for you, starting to think it might work out well for us too.

Can't wait to hear about the cruise...

Saturday off to the Magic

Saturday am. We are up and ready for our transfer. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that our town car transfer had been upgraded to a stretch limo. Yeah for us!!!!! The kids think that they have died and gone to heaven. Now I am really glad I decided not to pay for an upgrade. Our bags are loaded into the trunk and away we go. 45min later we arrive at Port Canaveral. We stand in a short line for security and up to the check in line. We are given boarding pass #2 EXCELLENT. Now where are traveling companions?? They were driving down and dropping the rental car off at budget. We quickly check in and recieve our key to the world cards and castaway cay lanards. Off to get our pager for the kids club. One change I did note was that you had to go and stand in a different line in order to get your photo taken for the ships security. This seemed to help with the boarding process. Now, they have started to call for BP #1 and the rest of our group is still not here yet. A quick phone call tells us that they are just getting off the exit. New plan, we will meet on the ship. I dont want to wait in the boarding area when we could be exploring the ship. Finally we board and start to explore. About an hour later we have a call that they are boarding. WE meet in the atrium and quickly head to parrott cay. Food was great. WE spend the pm checking out our cabins and unpacking before heading up to the assembly drill and then the sail away party. I was dissapointed to see that there were not disney employees standing on the peir waving goodbye. More about our evening to follow.

More as promised

We had dinner at LAP etc. We had early seating which worked out great. We arrive to meet our table crew. Within 10 minutes one of the boys is asleep in his chair. He slept the entire meal. Now we even had some excitment. My son had a great meal. About two bites into his choc ice cream he looks up and says. " I dont feel......" Need I say more. My DH quickly scooped him up and to the cabin for a tub. Mean while I am trying to at least cover the mess with some napkins. Our servers were great. "Please dont worry about it, he is not the first kid to get sick in the dinning room" Yeah, but it still doesn't make you fell any less mortified!!!!! ANyway, we head back to the cabin and my kids are about done. By 830 I think we are all in bed. Looking forward to a couple days at sea. More to follow......ttfn
