Smile We re-booked once again!

We just completed a land/sea Disney cruise and had a blast. It was our ship that rescued the man from the Carnival ship....what an experience!

We booked another cruise for the summer of 2011 in great anticipation of sailing on the Disney Dream.....

Waiting for Disney Dream 2011 Itinerary

This Thursday DCL will be making an announcement...I wonder what it will be? Hoping for itineraries to open for summer of 2011 on the Disney Dream?....I heard that they'll be doing three and four day cruises? Anxious over here!!

They are going to be "unveiling" the new Disney ship, the Disney Dream, as they begin construction at the shipyards in Germany. They've already laid the lucky coin in the keel, but there will be some type of opening ceremony to announce the event..
Here's the link to the announcement: Disney Cruise Line

The Dream will replace the Wonder at Port Canaveral, as the Wonder moves to the west coast, so the Dream will indeed be doing the 3 and 4-day cruises, along with possibly some other itineraries.
Wouldn't it be fun to get in on an inaugural cruise? Or a repositioning cruise!

Man Overboard from Carnival Ship

We were on the Disney Wonder from August 30 until September 3. On the last night of the cruise, we were watching a movie on the jumbo screen on deck nine and it was after midnight, when I first saw the Carnival ship very close to ours. I didn't think anything of it.

After the movie, we went up to the top deck to look out into the ocean when we were startled by an announcement by the Captain, who asked all people on the outer decks to remain quiet as they needed to hear a man who was overboard. At that point I returned to my cabin with my son and my husband and daughter went to deck four. They watched the Disney rescue boat bring the man on board on a stretcher and he was wheeled within feet of where they were standing.

All was handled expertly and efficiently by the Disney staff according to my husband.

It was very strange knowing that in the middle of the night, in the middle of the ocean there was a man overboard.
