4 Days of Wonder should make a nice BD present.

Hello to all of you experienced cruisers and newbiees like me.

I feel very fortunate and lucky to be going on this vacation. My family of 5, DW DD 12, DD 11, DS 6 and me 28 will be cruising for the first time, and not any cruise, but the DCL. I think I am dreaming of this just as much as the kids. It all started around Christmass, when I had the idea to skip all the presents and put tickets to Disney World under the tree, but at the time I couldn't afford it. Oportunity came by and in February I was able to find a reservation for a very good price around $2100 for two inside rooms. (I know that they are not the best but as a first cruise should be more than enough). Plus we live in Kansas so airline tickets for 5 add up quite a lot to it. We kind asked the kids if they had to choose what would they pick, DC or WDW, and 2 of them said DC, we thought the same. Well their birthdays are in June, August and Sept so we thought that this would make a special bd present. They were all excited not to get any other presents. We did however make cakes and invite their friends for their bd.

So here we are in less then 4 days and we will be traveling. I got us some reservations for the CS in Nassau since they offer passes to get to Atlantis, which by the way looks awsome. Reservations through Disney were expensive more then $600 for all 5 of us, so I booked a room which was around $200 and it comes with 4 passes, then will buy a pass from Alantis resort for one of the kids for around $80. We are doing the bike/snorkel/floats/stingrays combo at CC. Living in KS we are far from the big water so everyone was excited about water rides more than MK or Epcot. Now, going all the way to Florida and not going to WDW is hard, so I am going to take every one at least to one of the parks once we are back from the cruise. I booked the flight to get there a day earlier and leave 3 days after, so will have time for one park and maybe some time at the beach. I will try to update, with pics etc. Any comments/tips are welcome since this is my first post/board.

It all sounds great! Sounds like you've really done your homework, but if you have any specific questions, ask away. I learned a lot from these boards before my first cruise. You're all going to have a blast!

Congrats on your cruise. Have an excellent time. I hope to do a DCL cruise at some point.
