Well, now I can finally update you on our amazing cruise. I have to say here that everyone should do an Alaskan cruise with Disney, if it's possible. It was the most wonderful (no pun intended! ) cruise and we loved every minute of it.
The weather on the way up was beautiful, dry and sunny and not that cold. I cannot tell you how stunning the glacier in Tracy Arm was - a sight that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
In Skagway, the White Pass Railway was a great choice - the views were stunning and we took so many photos.
The weather didn't hold for Juneau, although thankfully it did for the whale watching - we saw humpbacks and sealions - but we just missed the Orcas by minutes. When we got back on land, it was tipping down and it was like that the rest of the day. The Mendenhall Glacier was beautiful, but to be honest, nothing compared to Tracy Arm : The salmon bake wasn't bad, the highlight had to be the bear up the tree by where we were eating - seriously!
In Ketchikan, we had the crab feast, which is one of the best meals I've ever had in my life and the flightseeing. It was a bit of a bumpy flight, as it was raining again by the time we got in the air, but it was an amazing sight beneath us. Taking off from water and landing on it was very cool!
Other highlights included formal night - we got so many great photos (we bought the CD in the end), the Rainforest (visited that every day! ), a wonderful brunch (yes we got it! ) and dinner at Palo and two wonderful spa treatments.
Any questions, fire away - I'll probably be online until Thursday morning now...
Just the thought of flightseeing makes my stomach turn in knots! I can't believe you guys did that! Much braver than me..... The bear in the tree sounded interesting too!
