We celebrated our anniversary by parasailing on Castaway Cay, along with our 8 year old son. I couldn't believe how easy, fun, and exciting this port adventure was. We reserved an 11:00 am time, thinking we would have some beach time first, then lunch after, which worked out great. Since we were on a double dip on the Dream, we reserved the first day at Castaway Cay thinking that if something happened with the weather, we could potentially find a spot on our second day at Castaway Cay. No worries, the weather was great--both days!
Our tour operators were fantastic! The price was right--$79 per person. And our son got to go up TWICE! Once with me and once with his dad. What an incredible surprise!
I wouldn't hesitate to do this excursion again. Top notch!
We can book this in 5 more days! I read this on your blog, been checking everyday for more stories about your trip. I'm glad you shared the tip about "the boy" getting to ride twice, I never would have thought about that. I wonder if DS15 will have to double up or if he can go alone? Then DS8 could possibly go twice. Now I'm getting nervous he might chicken out like the 12 year old on your trip. DS14 and I did the Vigilante Zipline in Branson last week and the harness seat looks siimilar. I never would have though to take a waterproof disposable camera either for the parasailing, I need to pick up a couple, I hope to find some on sale.
After reading your blog post I decided to sign up my DD and I for that excursion on CC in November. It sounds like a lot of fun.
Do all the younger kids ride with adults?

Good for you!
Most of the parasailers ride tandem, even the adults, if weight limits allow. In our group of 10, there was only one man that parasailed alone, and he could have tandemed with his son. . . who didn't want to go up again. Some of the tandems are side by side, using a long pole, others are front/back, which it was for our family.
Great report! My DH and I parasailed on our honeymoon in Aruba and loved it. I am planning on doing the parasailing in CC next April, and I'm glad to hear that your experience was so good.
We just came back from a CC double dip on the dream and we also did the parasailing!! Loved it!!! I am not a big fan of flying, so I wasn't sure how I would do, but it was great. We are a family of 5 and we were on the tour with another family of 5. My husband rode with our 8 year old son, I rode with our 9 year old daughter, which left our 12 year old son solo...but the other family had a 12 year old daughter and the two of them agreed to go up together. They had agreat ride. We also got "dunked" some even got "dunked" twice.
