What a great meet - sounds like everyone had a wonderful time.
Glad you were able to change the Sanaa ADR to your AKL stay day - really gives you like three seperate mini trips, your BC trip (love the idea of B&C for dinner), your cruise, and then fun over at AKL. Sounds like the perfect trip to me
I forgot to mention one amazing thing Linny and her family did. They brought the cutest Cars can banks for my boys to use to start saving for our trip in November. And started them off with coinage already inside!! And a Mickey journel for me to take notes on our trip so I can tell you all about it when we get back! PP friends are the best!!
Oh, and one other amazing thing Linny introduced me to funnel cake fries!!! I'll admit they are amazingly delicious, but also amazingly addicting! I ended up with 2 more orders on our last 2 nights. So, the boys will be loading up for our trip...and I'll be trying to unload for our trip.
Now...I'll stop hijacking Linny's PTR
Awwww Dawn, thank you. But really I'm not that amazing. I tell ya what would be amazing though, is if you could use the word amazing one more time in that post You are so sweet!!!

I honestly don't know. I flip a lot in the car. I don't like commercials or too much talking. But we have several that could've played both those songs.

So I have an update to post tonight all. With some pics too.............ooh fancy right??? Happy Weekend
So I plan on talking staterooms in this post, but I forgot to mention the one thing that kinda bothered me about DCL
I'm not a complainer at all, I actually really hate to even hear people complain, however here is/was my beef................ So when going to WDW and checking into your resort, it may be my 12th time there, the person in front of me, well it might be their first time there, and maybe the people behind me is there on their 100th visit. It really doesn't matter because at 180 days prior to us all checking in, we ALL got to get on the horn and make our ADR's, right? Everyone is on the same playing field. Well except when cruising with Disney. Because this was our first Disney Cruise, I couldn't book anything extra until 75 days before we sailed. Some could do 90 days ahead and others I think 120 days ahead. I find that annoying. Thank god I was only looking to get a tea ressie, ( which I couldn't get anyway) not a dinner at Palo or Remy not even any excursions. I understand you want to give something back to your repeat customers, but come on. Ok, that's that. Just one little thing that to me, was like eh
Moving on to our STATEROOM!!!!!!! Clearly, I wanted a balcony ( Disney calls them verandahs) and I wanted as much space as possible because my hubs is a giant and I have a baby, so we all know................baby's come with stuff. It looked like a Deluxe Family Oceanview with Verandah was the way to go!!!! Then it looked as if the Cat 4A had a bit more room than the other rooms in the group. So that is what we went with. I believe the next option up would have been a suite, and well yes I would love that, but can do without. I do wonder though if my Cat 4A will really have that much more space than like a Cat4D or even a 5A, but what can you do now??? I did choose deck 9 which I am glad I didn't choose deck 10 as I have heard people have been complaining about noise from the above pool deck.
That is my mini update ( for now, I'll be back later..........have to make dinner for a few adorable people) I am off to take a photo or two of a FE to post..........yeah, I had no idea either, but quickly caught on!!!!
I agree with you about the non-level playing field when it comes to ressies on DCL. From what I hear, most of the other big cruise companies have a similar set-up, so it's not just DCL. but it is annoying! They say they hold back a percentage of all spots for Palo & Remy so that the Platinum level guests can't snag them all. I do know that if you go to the Palo desk (they usually have it set up in one of the adult clubs) right after boarding there's a possibility you can book something. Before the Panama cruise I couldn't get a brunch ressie on line (and that was a 15-night cruise, with multiple sea-days!), but was able to get one on embarkation day. Glad you've got a 4-A cabin. It'll be great!
So with our flights, hotels and staterooms booked and nothing left to do I started off reading whatever I could about the Disney Dream. I was checking out EVERYTHING. Reading recent TR's helped out like you wouldn't believe. I actually have learned alot by reading JENSIEB's TR in the cruise section. I heard her keep talking about a FE. What? What the heck is a FE? So I asked her and she explained this to me. A FE is called a Fish Extender ( I don't get the name, but whatever) it is bascially a little thing you hang on your stateroom door. It has small pockets on it where you can leave little gifts, think like Secret Santa type things I guess. Wait, I have to stop.............I act/sound like I really know what I'm talking about. But trust me, I don't. Ok, back to this......so anyway there is a group meet list on the Disboards website. Ok getting off track again but have to talk Disboards. I'm not a huge fan of that site because I find it hard to navigate and the site itself seems busy to me, BUT they do have alot of cruise info on there and this is where I found out a little extra info. OK, back now to the FE........So I signed on to the group for my sailing and there are about 25 families participating in our FE. They broke the groups into 2 and I have 15 staterooms in my group. You can leave little goodies in everyone's FE on whatever day you choose. We are going to give out our loot on the day of the Pirates night. So our little loot bags are filled with candy and all things pirate. I will post a pic of that when I get them done, but here is a pic of my FE.
Which by the way, I bought. Yes, I could have made it but why when there are plenty of people on Etsy who can do a way better job and at $35, really for me it was a no brainer to this craft challenged person. I didn't want it to be overly specific to the cruise we were taking, ya know incase I decide to use it again on another cruise. Now, while shopping around on Etsy and reading some other TR's I found out this cute little tidbit. You can leave something at guest services for the characters to sign. I think 2 things per stateroom. I hate the whole autograph books. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the day will come when my little ones ask "what's that?" and "can I get an autograph book ?" which I'll cave and do so. But until that day comes, not happening yet. I did see people will get pillowcases and drop them off with GS and they come back signed with all the characters. SOLD!!! So on Etsy I saw those being made and sold as well.
This I did not mind getting personalized with our sailing dates and location. I think they are adorable. I also heard it is nice to leave a little something for the CM's who sign these, so I picked up a 3lb box of saltwater taffy from the boardwalk here. That should keep em happy, right?
SInce we are on the subject of crafts, I can't get over how challenged I really am when it comes to making a simple countdown. I do my best to keep up with all the other super mom's out there, but really what a struggle. So anyway, this is what I came up with. I'll have the Mickey head move each day, or just put a mickey head on each day.
A few things came in the mail yesterday as well. Cruise docs!! YAY!!! Then the one piece bathing suit. UGH. I hate one pieces, and before you all say " What about a tankini?" I hate them even more. I wore a 2 piece the entire time I was pregnant with both kids. Did I look good? Heck no! Did I care? Heck no! If my big ol belly and stretch marks bother you, look the other way. However, I'm still trying to loose some more baby weight and the thought of me sitting in the splash area on the ship with Andre and feeling not as good as I should, I caved and bought the good ol' one piece. It's not so bad, it's from VS. Right? Eh, I'm trying to make it sound better, but what ya gonna do.
Here I am...finally!!! Thank God you told me about this little report that has been going on since, hmmm...the end of AUGUST!!! Okay, I'm all caught up and I want to try and put your mind at ease about the tea ressies on the ship. I had the same exact problem when we went on our Eastern Caribbean cruise with DCL, but after doing a lot of research, I found out that they keep a few open spaces to the side so people can grab them the day they get on the ship.
On the Magic, I think we had to go to the Diversions lounge (which is not on the Dream) to see if anything was available, and it was. If I were you, I would find out where you need to go on the ship to try to get a ressie, so right when you step foot on the Dream you can head on over there. And by the way, tea was wonderful and I really hope you get to enjoy it.
And your countdown looks great! I've decided to do something different this year since the thought of peeling all of those Mickey heads makes me nauseous. We'll see what I can come up with...not sure if Hope will comprehend it, but it's worth a shot.
Can't wait to read more...oh, and I'm even more jealous now since you're staying at my two favorite resorts in one trip!!!
Sounds like it is going to be a great stateroom - I have started mulling over staterooms as I am destined to get us on a cruise soon. Sorry that you were not able to get the tea, but I have heard others able to book once on board so I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you. Love the idea of the pillowcases - we have tons of autograph books, one year I got a tote for her to have signed, but sometimes the autograph book was just the easiest. I like the idea of having something useful that won't get shoved in a drawer until the next trip. The pillowcases is a great idea and love the personalization on them.
Love the fish extender (even though I am sure that yours would have come out just as good) the countdown calendar is adorable!!!
Love the pillowcases!! We did those last year (I'd put an iron-on with one of Shadowryter's designs in the middle of it), and this year I did mats for a photo. I used the 11x14 mat, with an opening for a 4x6 picture. If you want everyone's autograph, make sure to pick "Classics" AND "Princesses".
And I included the markers when I submitted ours - both last year (fabric markers) and this year (Bic colored markers). They returned the markers. I did give them a couple of the GIANT bags of M&M's to thank them, and those seemed appreciated.
