My husband and I honeymooned on the Disney Magic in September 1999 and to our surprise, were upgraded from a deluxe outside verandah to a 1 BR concierge stateroom. Boy, were we lucky! Of course, since it was September, we were diverted from the Bahamas and Castaway Cay to Cozumel as a result of Hurricane Floyd. We are hoping to make it to Castaway Cay this go-around!
I am running WDW's Tower of Terror 10-miler at the end of September and was just going to spend a couple days in WDW then fly back home. I then thought this might be a great time to plan a quick 4nt cruise with DH and without the kids...much their dismay. What my 10 yr old DS doesn't know is that I have an out of this world Birthday/Christmas present for him (and DD and DH) in 2013...7nt Eastern Caribbean Cruise on the Fantasy in a Concierge Family Stateroom! Shhh...
Anyway, I just gave the authorized to my travel planner to pay the balance of the upcoming 4 nt cruise! In a few short weeks, I can check in online. I know it probably doesn't mean much, but for me it will mean it is really happening. Let's just hope that the Atlantic Hurricane season takes pity on me and lets us make it to Castaway Cay...that is all I want...to hang out at Serenity Bay for a day. Moms out there know what I mean...just some time disconnected from the world...just relaxing. We are not planning to get off the ship in Nassau...we have already been and have not been impressed. That means more time to explore the ship. I mean when you think about it, 4 nts is not really enough, but we will take what we can get. I am so excited!
Hopefully I will not be a slacker and I will post a trip report when I return
Exciting! You never know with hurricanes, of course, but I love cruising in late Sept, early Oct. When the weather's good (and it usually is), it's VERY good! And the 7-night to look forward to also-- just great!
