Oh my goodness, I've missed this place!!! I ended up on a trial that lasted nearly 3 weeks. It was stressful and awful and I'm glad the experience is over.
Now... can you believe that I'm in the double digits already?!?!?! Wahoo! I'm so ready to go! Just 2 weeks and 4 days til I can check in and make reservations! I'm amassing Disney gift cards (Meri even got one for her birthday from a friend) and trying to decide when I want to arrange reservations and spa treatments and such.
I wish I had a more exciting update... but very soon there will be a loose schedule at least, and something to talk about!
Thanks for all of the birthday wishes for Meri!! She had a great day!
I just found your pre-trip report and I'm SO excited because... my DH and I will be on the eastbound Transatlantic cruise on the Disney Magic in May 2014!
Barcelona is a wonderful city. We were there in 2010 after our Disney cruise from Dover and loved it.
I had a somewhat similar experience as Lorie described: DH and I went on a so-called "mini-cruise" from Germany to Newcastle (I think) and back. Well, first of all, it wasn't a cruise ship but a car ferry - meaning that the ship's center of gravity was way too high without any cars in it. And second, we were "cruising" in the North Sea So I basically spent the entire time onboard lying down in our stateroom. After that, it took years to convince me to try a real cruise.
I can't wait to read your actual trip report as I'm curious about the weather and how rough the seas will be out in the middle of the Atlantic!

I will definitely be as detailed as I can about the crossing and our experience! If you think up any questions either before or during the cruise, let me know! I'll be using the on-board internet periodically (though I hear that it is achingly slow, so I doubt I'll use it more than once every few days for a very brief update on the boards and Facebook).
I'm looking at my spreadsheet / schedule for the trip, and trying to decide what days I will attempt to schedule Palo and spa stuff. I think we'll do 3 actual spa treatment days (where we get massages or wraps or something. And then two Palo brunches. I'm not sure if we'll do dinner there. Maybe I'll book one for mid-trip and then see how our schedule feels. We can always cancel! I wish we knew way way way in advance what the schedule would be, as far as when formal nights are, when the pirate night is, etc etc. That would help me plan better.
Have I mentioned how ready I am for this trip??? I bought a few more gift cards, so that was fun! I love watching them pile up!

Great! What I'm most interested in is what the weather will be like out on the Atlantic, and how rough or calm the seas are!
