According to the information here flickr basic accounts will remain free even though ownership will switch to SmugMug, but photos on flickr will remain on flickr.
I think they're trying to confuse people - and with me they succeeded. The email I got said my Flickr account would switch over to Smugmug on May 25th (where they admit there are no free accounts) and if I didn't want that to happen, I would have to delete my pictures and account. Now they're saying something different.
I've thought about it and at this point in time, I'm going to go with what is easiet for me - and that's stick with the Google photos. I'm actually excited at the thought of it not taking forever for photos this year. When I first started doing TR's, I had fun putting them in but as time went on Photobucket made it harder and harder. Once that happened, I started limiting myself on how many photos to share. Even with that, I swear I spent more time working with the photos than actually writing the TR. This year I'll write the TR just like I always have but I'll spend many, many hours less with the photos and actually be able to share more so unless Google goes and screws things up (knock on wood they don't) I'll be able to add more photos and post my TR quicker than I have been able to.
I love your trip reports and will read them with or without pics
