Suggestions please

I'm hosting Christmas for my side of the family and I saw a Christmas gift exchange game on Facebook that involves rolling a die and whatever number you get refers to what you do with your gift. It sounds like fun. So, anyway our price limit is $10 and with the way the game works you really need to buy gender neutral gifts. Well that seems to be harder than I thought it would be. Do you consider a picture frame gender neutral? I mean I know in reality it is, but to me it just seems like a feminine gift? I went Christmas shopping today and I really thought I'd see all sorts of things that would work, but I didn't, except if I were to just go with a food item. Any suggestions? TIA!

Gender neutral gifts are tough! We did that in our family a couple times and many people bought gift cards or food gifts. To tell you the truth, they were the best received as well.

A frame is probably gender neutral, but might be tricky because of people’s taste or decor.

I'd automatically say a picture frame is something more for women. I agree food gifts would work for everyone.

Does anyone in your family like puzzles? Either jigsaw or books with Soduku/crossword/word finds? They have some really nice (really thick) ones at BJ's for just under $10. I picked up some for Abby because she loves them.

Our book club does a white elephant and you can't buy anything, it has to be something from your house. It's a great way to re-gift. Since you're not spending money, there is no limit. You can steal gifts from someone too. The way it works is you each pick a number from a hat and choose a gift from the pile in the order your number goes. If you want to steal something someone already opened, then you can do that and that person gets to choose again. We set a limit of how many times a gift can be stolen. You keep playing until the last gift in the pile is taken. Just a suggestion for next year.

Alcohol works....but you can't have minors or people with alcohol problems or objections to liquor, so maybe not.

Gender neutral makes it really hard.

How about a silly hat with ear flaps?
