Tickets bought

Finally the tickets have been purchased for our family trip to Italy net April. I am so excited.

Any suggestions welcomed. I will be traveling with my adult children and grandchildren who will be 3 and almost 5.

ETA: I know some rudimentary Italian, my DD is fairly good and we all have a second language in addition to English-little kids speak Vietnamese, Spanish and English and I hope to share my very basic Italian with them.

Yes. They have been raised speaking English and Vietnamese and because of where they live the gardener and housekeeper speak Spanish. My fear is that Italian and Spanish are so close their little brains may have a hard time keeping them straight. Not expecting them to use a lot of Italanian-just hello, good by, please, thank you. Simple things.

If you're to that part of the country, I can thoroughly recommend Sorrento (beautiful), Pompeii and Herculaneum (such history) and the Amalfi coast is amazing to drive - if someone in your party will be driving?

My son may drive. He drove in Greek and actually shocked the rental company. They gave him a price but when he went to pick up the car, they explained it was a standard shift, thinking because he was an American, he would not know how. Fortunately my kids all learned to drive on a standard and they have spouses who do too.

We are just at the beginning stages. My family is from the Sorrento area so that was on our list as well as the small village some were born in.

ETA: The trip is only 11 days and I wish we could stay a month but other than the kids we all have responsibilities that call us.
