Nana and GiGi's Food & Wine adventures! Pre Trip report in progress!!

Hello From Pennsylvania! I am Nana! A 64 yr young Mom of two daughters who have families of their own, Nana to three granddaughters, and a FT Vascular Access RN and an enthusiastic Disney Fan. My absolute favorite time to visit WDW is for the F&W Festival!! I have been to Disney World many times but my last trip was 5 years ago. I am so excited to see all the changes, especially AK Park and Disney Springs. Also to experience my first MNSSHP without kids!!

Now introducing GiGi!! Oldest daughter, Mom of two daughters. 12-13, and 15-16 their birthdays are coming up soon and also a RN for a MD office. She is traveling with a bad knee that she hurt during a Marathon. She has gone to WDW and a Disney Cruise to often to count. She love planning trips as I do but since she is also in school for her Masters, I am going to try to plan this .

Right now she thinks I am crazy because I have formed a rather interesting relationship with Disney Reservations. I changed plans so many times already that I couldn't remember what I changed. We started out with this being a short trip of 4 nights and 5 days, which grew to 6 nights, 7 days. Resorts changed three times, REP on and off twice, tickets i added and then removed hoppers twice. I guess you can say I was a bit indecisive in the beginning.

I really wanted to experience staying at a monorail resort but the Master (GiGi) convinced me that we only need the room "to sleep"! So we are staying at Pop, preferred room. I think they have the best bus service of all the resorts. We have stayed there multiple times and never waited longer than 20-30 minutes with the average wait being 10-15.

Our dates are Oct 1-7, with MNSSHP on Tuesday. Since I have this great relationship with Disney operators, I also changed my dining reservations a few times, ummm, about 5 In my defense, I thought it would be a good idea to have the DDP. It was brought to my attention that we don't want to waste time at multiple sit down restaurants and we will be Dining & Drinking Around the World on and off the entire trip, so after initially with a restaurant a day with the DP, we decided OOP was best. I used the Dining Worksheet and it worked out that OOP was less expensive.

We fly out on Southwest early Monday and return around 9p Sunday with Spirit. I was shocked at how expensive the airfares were! I watched three different sites and checked the Airlines multiple times for three months and the fares seemed to get more expensive every week.

So far we are planning to stay in MK for the late EMH Wednesday, AK and EPCOT also for their late EMH. We want to see the Nighttime shows and fireworks.

Only two restaurants - Via Napoli Monday at 220p. And Yak & Yeti Thursday at 3p.

So follow along on and experience our ever changing journey planning our first Mom and Daughter trip to our Happy Place!!

More plans to follow!!

Sounds like a great trip! We all make many many changes, so don't feel bad. I think it's all part of the planning fun!

I was going to ask her if she was related to you.

Thank you

I so appreciate all the remarks. I am from northern suburb of Pittsburgh but I do think the majority of nurses think and "plan" everything. I have worked 12 hour shifts the last few days, but a continuation of our planning is coming tomorrow! Thank you for following. Tomorrow is our Dalmatian Day!!!

I understand the multiple changing of plans. Mine have been with dates, we have moved all over a span of a year.
Plans sound great. With the F&WF it probably is good to just do OOP instead of the DDP.
Hope you have a wonderful trip!
