Standard Rooms at Poly

So we have a trip planned for August (because its my birthday), staying at POFQ for 8 nights/9 days.

Well, yesterday my DD19 surprised me with switching our first 3 nights to Poly! I've always loved this resort even though we've never been able to afford to stay. So quick question, which buildings are the standard rooms in? Are they spread out through the resort? Or specific buildings? The Disney website says its a view of the garden, monorail or parking lot. Anyone have a favorite or a recommendation for a building?

Needless to say, I'm beyond excited!

The standard rooms are spread out throughout the resort. You can get quite lucky and score a view with some of the standard rooms...specifically the 3rd floor rooms. Since my personal favorite longhouse has since been converted to DVC rooms, I have had to shift my room choices. Based on past stats and my most recent trip in March (2 different locations at the Poly), I prefer Aotearoa 3rd floor facing the lagoon (North facing room) or Figi 3rd floor facing the GF (West facing room). These rooms were very quiet and extremely easy to reach transportation, food and the pool. Another very nice centralized room location is Niue. This longhouse is literally small k dab in the middle of the resort and all of its amenities. However, since I prefer the balcony and quieter rooms we generally opt for one of the others that I mentioned. The Poly is by far our favorite resort and we have spent 85% of our trips there. If you have any specific questions let me know.

Thank you. Those are great recommendations. It seems like even the standard rooms have great views. I'm very excited.

Since my fav longhouse, Samoa is no longer standard view, I’d pick Fiji, 3 rd floor, or if you prefer a patio request 1 st floor. Second floor rooms don’t have a balcony.

Yes...definitely avoid the second floor rooms! No real balcony & no patio does not work for me.
