POFQ - Any Suggestions/Recommendations?

Hey Folks,

We just booked a stay at POFQ for Feb. We've never stayed there and it's been close to 10 years since we stayed at POR so I'd love any recommendations about the resort re: food at the resort, activities, amenities and anything else about the resort.

Thanks!

Welcome to the Boards!

My 1st stay was last September 2017 and I ABSOLUTELY loved it!
I was in Building 5, a pool view, second floor and a corner window. My request was to be on a lower floor. Taking the boat to Disney Spring is a nice way to go, breaks up the buses. Walking around is just so nice with the "streets" and lampposts. I did the pool & hot tub, very nice.

The landscape is just wonderful- you will enjoy it! I have never been to New Orleans but with this resort I felt like I was. Also I am hoping to come back for next year's trip. I didn't eat at the food court, but what I saw looked really good. I hope to experience that for the next trip!

I hope you enjoy your Trip for next February!

The PO resorts are my absolute favorites. I prefer POFQ simply because it is smaller which makes everything closer together. I agree that the boat to DS is a must do. You can also walk over to Riverside (about 10 minutes along the river) and rent a horsedrawn carriage ride or bicycles. I believe you can also rent boats to go out on the river. There are no bad locations, IMO. Everything is lovely and a short walk to the food court and bus stop. to the boards and enjoy your stay at POFQ!

Sadly the boat rentals stopped. A few years ago. But you can still rent them from an MK RESORT.

We love the POR resorts. At POFQ we were in bldg 4 in a GV room just across from food court.
Taking the boat to DS is so pretty, esp at night with the Treehouse Villas all lit up.
Walk over to Por to enjoy YeeHa Bobs show, eat at Riverside Mill, the make your own Pasta is a fav. And it’s a pretty walk along the river.

I love the PO resorts! I highly recommend the music offerings at POFQ. Its been a few years since I stayed there but if they still have the music it was awesome! And it was right next to the food court so we got dessert and went to listen.
I also love to take the boat transportation around PO.
Have fun!!

Port Orleans resorts are very peaceful and have lovely grounds. The pool is fun at POFQ and there are lots of nice walking areas. Plenty to do!

The food courts are adequate (POR is larger) and offer lots of choices. The walk between the resorts is not long if you decide to explore or visit the POR food court. OF course, the popular Beignets are at POFQ and you will want to enjoy those!!

There is a really nice boat ride to Disney Springs (Downtown Disney) and it is so relaxing.
Enjoy!!

Hooray for POFQ!! We love the tranquil theming and compact design of the resort. Pool area is fun and can be relaxing and is close to food court, gift shop, and laundry. All in one swoop. I also grabbed dinner and headed to the pool and ate in my lounge chair poolside as the kiddo had fun with evening pool activities. The lifeguards are on their A-Game always, and the pool rec activities people do a superb job keeping kids of all ages engaged and having fun, both of which I would expect comes standard at any WDW resort.

- Sassagoula FW has pretty decent offerings. We opted many nights to get our dinner from there as opposed to in the resorts. More relaxed and a bit cheaper with good size portions too it seemed. We paid for bike rental between POR and POFQ, and it was pretty (but not very long). Also did the cane pole fishing at Ol Man Island in PORa few years ago. No fish action, but it was a nice and peaceful moment in an otherwise busy trip. I noticed some painting classes (I think) for adults near the lounge area, and decent turnout but not overly crowded for the live music in the lounge too. I think that just staying at POFQ is nice in itself. Have fun!
