Thanks. Although when they say "free dining", etc., in reality we are paying a lot for the package as a whole. Year on year these vacation packages go up by around $420 annually, so each year I get overly excited by all this free stuff but am actually paying more and more for it!

However, I know I do have the choice as to whether to go or not, so there is no point bleating about it. Our plan to not keep going back each year to a Disney destination has gone out of the window for the time being - while we are able to work and save for these holidays, we will continue to do so. I spoke to my mum today and she told me she bumped into some old friends of theirs today, who's daughter died suddenly and unexpectedly 3 weeks ago from a very aggressive form of cancer. I remember playing with her as a child, she was younger than me, and it just goes to show that you never know what life is going to throw at you - she lived for just 5 weeks after diagnosis. My point is, if we start saying, "oh, we won't bother going to Disney again next year" but we can still afford it, then if something were to happen to one of us, we would never be able to forgive ourselves for not taking the opportunity to make more memories together.

Sorry for the rambling reply!

No worries but I hear you. Our package that is the same as two years ago went up by about $500.. If I didn't want to pay it, I wouldn't and we'd stay home. I want to go so therefore I "have" to pay the price. I'm sorry to hear the daughter died but I agree - we have to do things now because you never know. I'm not going to go into debt just to do something now but like you, if I save and can afford it, I'm going to.
