Long story short, we have a wedding to attend in S. California in February and are going to make a trip out of it including 2 days at DL/DCA. I have never been to DCA and the hubs has never been to either.
Question 1: Best Neighbor Hotel? Who do you like? Who would you skip? We would just need 1 night.
Question 2: Hotels near or at LAX for the night before our flight?
Question 3: If we have done US/IOA in Florida...do we need to do US in CA?
PassPorter's Free-Book to Walt Disney World Itís hard to believe anything is free at Walt Disney World; but there are actually a number of things you can get or do for little to no cost. This e-book documents over 200 free or cheap tips to do before you go and after you arrive. You could save a considerable amount of money following these tips. Perhaps more importantly; you can discover overlooked attractions and little-known details most people whiz by on their way to spend money. Click here to see free sample pages from the e-book! Get this popular e-book free of extra charges when you join the PassPorter's Club for as little as $4.95. A club pass includes access to all our other e-books; e-worksheets; super-size photos; and more! This e-book is also available for separate purchase in the PassPorter Online Store for just $5.95.
You're going to have so much fun! I would get the LIVE! Guide, as everything is much different from WDW. And be sure to use the single rider line for Radiator Springs Racer--this has saved me hours of time in the queue.
Red Lion Inn was very nice and very affordable for what you get, but a bit far to walk (15-20 minutes).
Candy Cane Inn is closer and also very nice (10 minutes or so).
But you can get cheap passes to ride the ART (Anaheim Resort Transportation) buses and ride in style.
The resorts directly opposite DLR's bus stops are even closer to the parks than the Disneyland Hotel is (and correspondingly more expensive, though still cheaper than the Disney resorts).
I stayed at the Best Western Plus Park Place Inn once, and you can't beat the location. It also included a free breakfast at the buffet next door--the normal stuff, plus you can put together an egg/cheese/canadian bacon English muffin and eat it as you walk.
What I did was check with Travelocity or Kayak to get the best prices. I also had another tab open with the map, so I could see exactly how far away each hotel was. I'll post the link to the map in a bit if I can find it again.
