Arrival day lunch

Hi, all, little ol' me here again with another planning question.
I am on a Southwest Flight out of Bradley Airport near Hartford nonstop to Orlando that has a scheduled arrival time of 10:05 am.

Allowing time to get to and ride Magical Express to my resort, I'm guessing I'll get there around 11:30. So once all the administrative stuff (check in, etc.) is done, it'll be lunch time.

So here's my question -- am I better off getting lunch at the Pop Century food court, or getting the bus over to Magic Kingdom (has to be the first park on my trip...) and get lunch somewhere there? I'm not looking for anything elaborate -- I'll have breakfast at BDL before the flight and am having an early dinner at 1900 Park Fair at 4:25 pm and am planning to get dessert later in the evening while I'm at MVMCP that night.

SO all you expert types out there -- suggestions please?

Thanks a lot!

I would get something at the Pop food court so I could head right to the attractions at MK.

It strikes me that lines are likely to be shorter at your resort than in a park, so you're likely to spend less time on the meal if you eat there ... leaving more time to do everything else in the park.

Based on your dinner time, I’d say waiting until you get to MK to eat would mean you wouldn’t really be hungry at 1900 PF, so based on that, I’d suggest the resort food court. That said, look carefully at the options. Our last trip to Pop, the food, particularly at lunchtime, was not, not, not good. Everything that should’ve been hot was cold. Cheese on top of a piece of chicken was hard. You can probably find something, and maybe they will do better for you. Just a word of caution.

Have fun on your trip!

I have to agree that lunch at the Pop food court would work best, especially with your early dinner ADR. I believe it would also save you time. The resort food courts tend to be fairly empty at lunch time as most people are in the parks.

Thanks for all the input. Pop food court it is then! I shall pencil that into my plans. Oh, this is all so exciting! We are now exactly at THIRTY DAYS TO DEPARTURE!!!! (That refers to my night at the airport hotel before my flight, but it counts!) Oooh, this is so exciting. My little nine-year old self is starting to take over amping up the excitement level as the day approaches. (See, I think that our kid selves don't really disappear as we get older; it's just that some people forget to let them out to play sometimes and thus grow up. I have not forgotten to let them out to play a little every day and so have not grown up.) And I think he is going to be taking over more and more as departure date approaches.

Thanks again for the input; I'm sure I'll have plenty of more questions as the date nears.

Have a Disney day!

Thanks, chezp! (By the way, i think I met you at one of the last MouseFests in December 2002 or 2003!) I see you will soon be off to Kew Gardens in London according to your signature. Have a fantastic time! London is one of the cities I do plan to visit someday.

My goodness, that's going back a way now! We were there for the 2004 one, I think... it's so hard to remember, as it's more than a decade ago now. In fact, it's almost 15 years now!

Yes, I'm heading there for a day out next Thursday with a friend. London is a beautiful city with so much to see and do. I only went to Kew Gardens for the first time at Christmas for their light display, which was amazing. I'm looking forward to exploring it more this time.
