Encouragement Please

I am debating a business trip to the LA area and would probably add a day at DL (I've been a few times but not for 9 years)

What are some good hotels and does it matter if it is a good neighbor hotel?

Last time I stayed at a Hilton Suites. It was by the baseball stadium but cheap, safe and nice.

I could do the work part in one day (one overnight becuase of the cross country flight) . Should I think about adding another night to do DL?

I would...I don't like to fly and for us to go anywhere, it is usually a long day of travel, so we like to make it worth the trip.

If you can afford the time and money....go for it.

If you can afford to take the extra day I definitely would do it since as you said it is a cross country trip.

Absolutely add a day!

You'll find lots of hotels on Harbor Boulevard, very near the park, and being a GNH doesn't matter.

I like the Red Lion Hotel, for price and amenities--stayed there twice. It's about a 20-minute stroll, but I would buy tickets for the bus, ART (Anaheim Resort Transportation), at about $3/day.

Candy Cane Inn is even closer, but a bit pricier. And the ones directly across from the parking lot, like Fairfield Inn and Park Place Inn, are fairly reasonable.

Yes, add the day! And get a hopper, if it won't break the bank--I think it's just an additional $40.

I think you'll find a lot of good info in the Disneyland LIVE! Guide (yes, I'm biased ).

When would you go?

I would go sometime ion March. I have to see if I need to do a home visit before court in April. My only reservation is doing a "quick" trip to the west coast exhausted me last time and I was 10 years younger and it was before I got sick.

I remember getting a discounted ticket in a grocery store on one of my trips but it was for 2 or 3 days, something I can't afford workwise because I am going to Texas for two weeks in Feb-March to help my son with the kids.

Ideally, I'd like to be able to wait until late April or May and have my DD come with me but my case may be over by then.

My BFF and I stayed at the Red Lion once...we really liked it. Good price, free breakfast (I think...or we might have paid extra with our room), nice room. Not a bad walk to DL.

I’d do it! We like the Tropicana Inn, and it’s literally at the pedestrian crosswalk to get on property.

I'd do a day at Disneyland if I was that close, but make it a soak up atmosphere and only absolute favorite rides that way a little more restful so not so tired and a fun way to spend the day before getting back on the plane.
