A ROYAL HARMONIOUS 55th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION-PTR - Page 2 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Oh my goodness! this sounds already quite fab!!! So excited for you! You've actually got me thinking that for our joint 60th, Dave and I will have to jump ship (haha) from Disney to this line...now that's a big step!
Can't wait to see what you end up booking...it looks like quite a hard dilemma!!!

Where we are going and our plans so far for my birthday week!!
We will fly down to Ft. Lauderdale on Friday January 20th. We are staying at the Renaissance Hotel which is our go to cruise port spot!! We this place!!! We traditionally go to the Bimini Boatyard for dinner and drinks and I can't wait to share this experience with Dave and Adrienne!
If the weather is good, we may walk around Las Olas Blvd. or maybe head to the beach. We arrive around noon. I also love watching the ships leave at the port. ( Although I don't know what kind of activity there is on a Friday.)
After a nice breakfast on Saturday morning, we will head over to the port. We love early boarding and we are planning on getting on the ship as early as we can!! This is a brand new ship for us and we can't wait to explore it!! The design on the Harmony is different than the Oasis and the Allure so it will be so fun to check out the differences!!
No matter how many times we cruise, we are always in awe that first minute we step onboard. We love to drink in the atmosphere and energy!! Then we head straight for lunch!! On this class of ship, that will entail going either to the Windjammer or Park Cafe. We will have to see how hungry everyone is.
Next up will be to get an adult beverage and then we can start exploring the ship. Those are our typical cruise traditions and once they are out of the way, we always feel like we can relax and be truly on vacation!!
I already told you that we got Dave and Adrienne a Central Park view balcony room. Muffin and I were lucky enough to snag a Junior Suite balcony room for ourselves!! This means we get double cruise points!! Other than that, it is honestly just a little bit larger balcony room with lots more closet space.
We are all staying on Deck 10:
We figure after lunch and some exploring, our rooms will be ready. This time, I promise to take pictures of both rooms.
As I mentioned, we again bought the dining package, this time for the four of us. We got the five night package and as is typical, the first night is booked for you and then you choose four other restaurants to go to. This leaves us two nights for the my time dining option.
We chose night four and night seven for that. We picked night four because we will be in St. Thomas until 7:00 PM and we may not even eat dinner that night. Plus it kinda breaks things up. The last night we always try to eat light before flying home so that was a no brainer.
All of the other nights will involve gourmetish type food, that is rich, and good wine!! (After all, it is my birthday week!! :the wave. Three of the restaurants that we hope to eat at are actually the same ones from our Bermuda cruise.
We would love to eat at Wonderland once again as well as Chops and Jamie's Italian. We are also going to try to eat at two others that we love on this class of ship; 150 Central Park and Izumi. The 150 Central Park menu comes with or without wine pairing and Izumi Comes with a hibachi offering. Of course, neither of those options are included in the package we bought but again, it is my birthday week! So we'll see!!. Anyway!!

Nassau is always a short day and we don't usually even get off of the ship anymore here but we thought since the Adler's haven't been here, we will definitely stroll through the straw market and maybe even hop a cab to Atlantis. We'll see what the weather is like.
On day three, I have an 8:00 AM flow rider lesson booked! Everyone else is chicken!!🐔
In St. Thomas, we booked the Magen's Bay Beach getaway from 2:00 PM TO 5:30 PM. Since we arrive at 10:00 AM, we will walk around downtown for a couple of hours before heading off on our excursion.
In St. Marten, which is my favorite Caribbean island, we booked a St. Marten beach rendezvous from 9:30 AM TO 2:00 PM. This will be Muffin and my third time doing this excursion! :the wave: ( Do you think we like it much?! ). This excursion is a perfect day at Orient beach and includes a lovely lunch!
We are still unable to book shows but as soon as we can, we surely will!!
Next: I will try to describe the beautiful Harmony!!
Oh, we love Magen's Bay!! The water is so amazingly clear. Of course when we were there last we had the place almost completely to ourselves, so that spoiled it for future visits, I'm sure.
You are too cool, doing the Flow Rider! Surfing or on the boogie board?

We have been to St. Thomas at least 4 times and have never been! We usually take a snorkel excursion to St. John. I love the flowrider!! Here's your answer!!
