Lightbulb Japanese Signature Restaurant Coming To World Showcase

While this is great news foodie-wise, it’s not so much for those loving to shop the Mitsukoshi store. Reportedly, the restaurant will take up part of the department store’s area.

Exciting, even so.

Oh wow, this sounds amazing. I'm not surprised about Mitsukoshi. Frankly, it had shrunk massively when we were there in January, so obviously it was in preparation for this. We were so disappointed with it when we went in. Now it all makes sense.

Where have you read the restaurant will be in the gift shop? All I read was this

Quote:
Mitsukoshi USA will operate the new restaurant (as it currently runs the Pavilion’s merchandise, Table Service restaurants, and kiosks).
It doesn't mean it won't be part of the gift shop but it doesn't say it will definitely be part of it.

I read that it will be in a small portion of the shop as well.

Update - I read about it in the Disney Food Blog and they had said it was rumored to be utilizing a small amount of the first floor department store as well as storage and backstage area.

This will be a must for me on a future trip. Looking forward to seeing the theming and menu for this new eatery.

I am a BIG fan of Teppan Edo- my attentions will still go there! As far as the shopping I hope they don't take too much space... I love shopping there!

I like Teppan Edo but it's actually quite average for Hibachi style eateries. Nothing that unique about it. There are some where I live that are a lot better. One thing is you get both the soup and salad at most of these but Teppan Edo eliminates one of these, but forget which one. Lot more reasonably priced and the cuisine is definitely better. But, I still enjoy Teppan Edo and will go there in the future. It could just be better and give you more for your $.
