DW is broken

As most of you, my family has been to DW too many times to count over 6 decades, probably pushing triple digits in the number of vacations. Every year, it gets worse. The logistics from park to park, the fast pass system, value for your dollar, and dining reservations.....all of it, too many things to list. We are DVC members and annual pass holders. For the first time, I’m considering selling my points and taking our hard earned money elsewhere. It’s impossible to plan vacations when fast pass lines aren’t fast, dining reservations run 30-45 minutes late CONSISTENTLY, and logistics from park to park are a joke. Minnie Vans???? $25????? I hear it’s a booming business. Has anyone stopped to think they are charging $25 a pop for a convenience they should already be providing? We’ve had 6 dining reservations, none of which sat us on time.

It’s a sad day....I’ve spent childhood trips, honeymoons, bachelor parties, and now bringing my own family to DW. My brother proposed on Main Street!!! We all have our stories. I know they won’t miss my business but I’m sure someone else can do simple things like keep reservations.

Angry

Nevermind, I was just offered a sticker at Tony’s Town Square. Completely makes up for missing my reservation time by 30 minutes. Hate to see this place when it’s busy season. Unreal. Are these people smart enough to realize customers get a 7:45 reservation in order to make a firework show at 9:00?

Yeah. The crown has lost it's sparkle and is missing a few gems at this point. You can't plan your days before making adr's because Disney's not releasing the operating schedules until about two months out but they still want you to book adr's at the six month mark. Then there's the elephant in the living room which is that, from what I've seen/read, Flights of Passage has zero accommodations for the handicapped other than the que and loading area being accessible to a wheelchair. I have severe osteoarthritis in my knees and while I could sit on the ride vehicle without a problem there is absolutely no way that I can sit with my knees bent like you're forced to for more than a hot minute or two if that. It's definitely losing some of it's magic.

Oh, I'm sorry that Disney has lost the charm for you. I do find that we've become adaptable to all the changes. We've never really had to wait that long for our ADRs but once you sit down to a great meal that wait is all forgotten. You have some great memories and more in the making and to me that's priceless.

Still plenty of magic at WDW for us, although I can see that someone who’s been going for as long as the OP has could get burnt out when changes make your stays increasingly less fun.

Maybe a year or so of vacay-away might restore the magic?

I'm sure the Disney CM's are smart enough to realize this but unfortunately unless they become rude and tell people "don't linger over your meal, we have other people to seat today" you're really at the mercy of other guests for meals. If they decide to start with appetizers and then get desserts and coffee, they probably aren't in any great rush to leave and get back to the park. If it starts to rain and people can see it, they probably aren't in any rush to leave then as they're someplace nice and dry.

Yes, the CM's are responsible for making (or breaking) magic but like I said, until they're able to tell people "we need to turn over this table, you're on a time limit that started already" I'm sure they get just as frustrated too.

I myself have never had to wait past our ADR time and on occasion we've even been seated early but I'm sorry that you haven't had the best experience. There are two sides to every story and getting mad at the CM's isn't going to help any.

There is definitely an art to rolling with the punches at modern Disney Parks.
