Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Happy Birthday to Liz! A Liz and Brent Holiday Trip Report! - COMPLETE!! 3/20

Happy Birthday to Liz! A Liz and Brent Holiday Trip Report!

Greetings one and all. What follows is a Liz and Brent trip report. We just returned from celebrating Liz’s 29th and a couple birthday, and had such a wonderful time we want to share. But first a little background. I am Brent, 48-year old Cinderella fan extraordinaire. Liz is a fan of TinkerBell and Snow White. Here are the details of our trip. December 26- Jan 1st. Staying at Pop Century.

We set out early in the morning of December 26 to head to Bishop International airport in Flint, Michigan. We arrived without incident at around 4:30 to catch our 6:25 am flight. Liz saw the parking rates were $8/day or $56/week, then stated we may as well go for the $56/week because it’s cheaper. Hmmmmm 7 days at $8/day is more expensive than $56? Ummmmm ok. The weather was clear and we were getting excited. Actually we didn’t get much sleep the night before. We were like kids on Christmas eve, except it was Christmas night! We checked our bags, and Liz made it through security. I, on the other hand, set off the metal detector. (That was subtle foreshadowing there, do take note!) I believe it was my belt or perhaps my Cinderella necklace? Either way, after a quick pat down we were on our way to the gate. The plane had to be de-iced because frost had formed on the wings. So, we were a little behind schedule but before you knew it we were airborne! Liz plugged in her earphones and began listening to country music on her tablet. After a minute she looked dismayed….. “The words aren’t coming through on my earphones”. I checked it out and it was fine. Turns out the song had a long instrumental opening. Liz was not having the best day.. . So she was blissfully listening to her music, I chose to plug in my headphones and watch the Cinderella movie on my tablet to get me in the proper mood. I always enjoy that. We landed on time and got right on Magical Express. On the way we received a text from Disney. Our room was ready! Things are going great! It was Disney and our room was ready! Room 5270 with a view of the flower pool. Great!

We got settled in, got a bite to eat, got Liz her birthday button, took a dip in the pool to refresh then we were off to the Magic Kingdom!. To our surprise we got right in the park. No line at bag check whatsoever. First up was a visit with Tink. Liz loved it. She said she didn’t know about Cinderella because she wears a blue dress like that old Wendy Bird. She said something about princesses, so I dropped to one knee, and told her she should be treated like a princess. She giggled, smiled, and said “If only I could get Peter to do that!” It was a great time and started our trip off great!

Next we headed deeper into the park and wound up in Frontier land just in time for the Very Merry Christmas parade. We loved it! Liz loved the reindeer and I loved the Princess float. Aurora was in her Purple dress, and Cinderella was in her white dress. I swear Cinderella blew me a kiss. As the float went past us I put up both hands and flashed fairy godmother the heart sign. Incredibly, she pointed her wand at me and flashed the heart back! We are having a great day so far!

Oh, but Liz got Wreck it Ralph to blow her a kiss too. Can’t forget that! Well done, Liz. You win!

Then it was on to see Cinderella and Rapunzel. I thanked Rapunzel for spending so much time with us over the holidays. She replied she loves being here and seeing good folks like us.

Then I finally got to meet Cinderella! At long last! I thanked her for blowing me a kiss in the parade and she said I was charming in every sense of the word, so I had her sign my picture book by a picture of me dressed in costume as Prince Charming at last Fall’s Halloween party. She then called my princess over for a picture. A good first meeting with my favorite princess.

Then we browsed the gift shopped and people watched a bit, then it was time for dinner at Be Our Geust! It was great, and I’ll let Liz chime in later with a report and pictures of the food. She is much better than that. As we were getting our pictures taken with the beast, the character attendant pulled me aside and told me she remembered me from a previous trip. It was in Fairytale Hall. She said she remembered I made such an impression on Cinderella she cried! I assured her I would never make the precious white-gloved one cry. She said it was a good cry. She was so touched by my light blue shoes, and my shirt with her pictures all over it, and my cinderella tattoos.

Next we used our fastpasses for the mine train. Front row baby!

By this time our long day was starting to catch up with us so we headed out. They opened up the short cut in back of Crystal Palace. That was pretty interesting. Never been back there. It was a good first day!

Next up: Epcot in the morning and Liz in the evening and our first encounter with security. And later: A private tour from Lady Tremaine??? Stay Tuned!

Great start to your trip! I've seen some of the photos from it on Facebook, so I'm looking forward to hearing more of the story behind those photos.

This is just the beginning of some wonderful adventures!

STAY TUNED! Brent made some great friends this trip, they even greeted him 3 or 4 mornings. I think it was his very visible love of Cinderella that drew them in. I met them once but they were much more drawn to him. The vacation new friendships were formed..........

You were winging it far above us as we drove north to Atlanta that day after leaving WDW from our wonderful week there. Would have waved a "Howdy, have fun!" had I known.

I got tapped to walk through the metal detectors three times but was unusually good and didn't cause trouble. Tink's mischief-making must've worn off on you, huh?

Following to see what else you two got yourselves into.

Glad to see a TR from you guys! I had been wondering where you were We were at POP 12/10-12/17 and I couldn't believe how crowded both the resort and the parks were. Probably nowhere near what you both experienced, but still crowded.
