As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Friday morning saw me up at 5:30 am and after the coffee was done I had a cup and at 6 went out to start the coach's heat system up. With generator running I ran the heat pump and disconnected the power line from the outlet. Lucille was up when I came in and we started to get the last minute things together to pack up put in the coach. The kids knew something was up and wanted to help. As 8am neared I got more and more agitated as less and less was getting done ane more to be done got added to the list. We had the news on and they were talking rain and fog developing for the majority of the morning. Once my concerns were heard we put things in gear and got on the road at 9.
Fog and rain did in fact form shortly after we left and this was what I drove through for the 1st 100 miles or so. Happily as I skirted DC both lifted and we had tolerable weather till just south of Richmond. That was were we ran into rain again. Happily it was light and I felt very comfortable doing 60 as we motored south on I 95. It did let up enough to hit a rest stop and walk around a bit and take the Girls with us. Katie like usual was ready and trying to bull her way around and Sky discovered Lucille and I wouldn't be executed if she went while on a leash. At 3:30pm we pulled into Carolina Crossroads and found out the group that had booked all the premium sites had cancelled and we had our choice. should have gone and looked at them but I took the one closest to the dog park. Nice site but tight and thanks to the rain now falling it was ponding in spots. For 1 night it was okay and maybe in better weather I would go for it again but next time I ask for the one with the Gazebo. Had the 1st tray of Lasagna for dinner and went to bed after taking the girls out once last time around 11

Yay, you're on your way and, despite the weather, sounds like the drive so far is going Ok.
Took our time and drove the conditions not the speed limit.

So was I I needed to get out from behind the wheel without Katie pulling mey arm from the socket cause she can't decide what to explore first.
Day 2 Travel Day
Today was a Saturday and with no larger cities on the route I couldn't get too upset that Lucille found ways to keep us from getting on the road till 9 am. Todays objective is Camp Lake Jasper in Hardeville SC. So from 10 miles into NC from Va. to 10 miles from Ga. on the SC side. Weather was once again not going to be on our side. Rain was in the forecast till mid afternoon and they were right. Happily it was spotty and never all that heavy. We were very disappointed at our favorite Cracker Barrel as the 3 spots for trucks/ RV's each had a Prius. A VW or a Camery in them. Lucille caught site of the next one 20 miles away and said keep on going their parking lot is full. Best part of today was when we stopped for fuel. We have Good Sam associated fuel card for use at Pilot /Flying J truck stops and the one at exit 170 in Florence SC has 2 dedicated RV lanes made things so much easier. (Our gas cap is in the rear cap of the coach.) We pulled into CLJ just after 4 pm. Basic routine of bare set up followed by dog park followed by dinner (Tray 2 of the Lasagna) We wanted to turn in early but the Girls have a routine at home and know when 11pm arrives and it's time for last time out and their nite nite cookie.
Day 3 Travel
Today's destination is Lazy Days outside of Tampa. I did convince Lucille that as we had over 400 miles to travel today I really wanted to leave by 8, Well sort of we were pulling out of the gate at 8:30 forgot that I had to pull the Jack pads out of the mud and take our trash to the dumpster Need to plan for that in the future. Still I will take it. The weather for once was in our favor, The sun was out and only a light breeze. Thank heaven for automatic Solar and Night shades as the driver 's side is on the East when Heading South. We have both read enough of the problems others (Not just RVers have had with I 4 thru Orlando to know to avoid it. I asked some fellow RVers on DisBoards and GOOGLED them and decided that 95 to SR409 to SR528 to SR 417would work best for us. EZee Pass now works with Sun Pass so that was a blessing Got here at just after 4:30 and when we got tto our site it was the same one we had last Oct when we bought the Banshee
