We are currently booked at CBR September 2019 for 9 days. This will be my ds-6 first time to Disney. He saw the theming at POP and loved and then asked to stay there. I saw pics of updated rooms and they look great! If I switch resorts I will add another day to our trip. Do you think rooms are big enough for 3 adults and one child? How is the bus situation? Food court options? We have only stayed in mods and deluxe resorts so it would be our first value. Pros/cons would be greatly appreciated!
I have stayed at Pop Century and LOVED it! It was before the new rooms, but I am not sure if you & your party would feel comfortable. Other then sleeping & taking showers how much time will be in the room?
The bus situation is Fantastic since it doesn't share! That was one of the reasons I liked it. I didn't eat at the food court that much but when I did grabbed some milk I thought it was pretty good.
What about doing a split stay? You get to have your son enjoy a few days at Pop Century and then go to CBR. Just a thought.
Kate in PA All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them- Walt Disney
We have visited and stayed at Pop Century several times.
The theming is really cute and nostalgic for those of us who have lived through those 20th century decades.
Personally, I dislike the design of the new rooms, but that is, of course, personal choice. I strongly suspect that when you have the pull down bed pulled down, 4 of you will feel the tightness of the space, Me...no way I would do that. When we have had 4 at a value, we have gotten 2 rooms.
We have great experience with bus service leaving at all times of the day. At the end of a park day, Pop Century bus lines will be hundreds of people, especially at MK. I think they do the best that they can, but whereas the All-Star resorts all have buildings with 3 floors, Pop buildings all have 4 floors, so many more rooms.
We had good luck with the food court until our last trip, but that one was terrible. We tried several times, and the food was just really bad, even at breakfast. The Art of Animation resort is right across a walking bridge, and we think their food is interesting and better than Pop. Beware, though, that if your son gets a look at that resort, he will inevitably fall in love with it and want to stay there.
We do love the whimsical, over the top theming of the value resorts, but all of them are moving to the queen beds, which seems great, but of course within the same footprint of that 275 sq ft room. Ummmm, not for me.
We LOVE Pop ! but I would be a little worried about 4 of you in a room. I did several trips with my DD and my sister. I must confess that after a few days I was really sick of sharing a bed with a wiggly child.
