Grocery order placed

We're getting so close now - 5 days and hours until we leave - and I just placed my grocery order. Instead of doing Garden Grocer this year I'm doing Walmart Grocery pickup. The prices are much more reasonable (I'd say I easily cut the bill in half) and it's for brands/products that we really want, not what we'd settle for. Yes, I actually have to go to Walmart but we're going to have a car and we have plans to go out to 192 anyway so for the amount I'm saving, I'm willing to try it. I can even add (or remove) stuff to my order up until about 12 hours before my pickup window.

At this point in time though I do want it to be further along in the week. I think I may be bouncing off the walls until then and the last thing I want to do is drive my mother crazy - she is our ride to and from the airport after all.

We just did the Walmart pick up about two weeks ago. It was much cheaper than Garden Grocer. They came out right away when we arrived for our pick up and we were on our way in no time. The only thing I was worried about was everything fitting in our rental car along with us and the luggage but it worked out. I will definitely plan to use them again.

I didn't know Walmart did a pick-up service. Interesting....

I'll be interesting in hearing how this Walmart service works out for you. It does sound more like what I'd use.

I’m too much a touchy-feely shopper to want to use a pickup or delivery service either one.

In St. Louis, the Walmart pickup has been available for about a year now as I recall. I often see people in cars in the pickup spaces so guess it must be a popular service.

We’ve not been tempted to try Garden Grocer due to such limited selection and high prices. That was more the case after finding how close Walmart is to WDW last fall when we went on a toilet tissue desperation trip.

Frankly, I could see a Lyft or Uber trip there being well worth the time and effort for those not having a car.

Since we don't stay DVC or anyplace with a kitchen, most of what we get is non-perishable snack items and drinks. The few perishable items we get are yogurts so as long as the date is good, I don't need to stand there and look at everything. I'm more than willing to let someone pick that stuff out and save me a bunch of time.

Let us know how it works out. My last 2 orders with Garden Grocer were incomplete and the last one they delivered my missing items to the wrong resort. So I’ll be looking for a different service.

I have starting using the Walmart pick-up at home and you will love it! I "check-in" on the app when I start driving to the store and they literally walk out the door with my bags right after I pull into my parking spot. They load it right up and you are on your way super quick
