Mexican Riviera Cruise

We are planning a Princess Cruise of the Mexican Riviera over this upcoming New Year's. Yes, we will be taking the Love Boat and I know I'll be disappointed when I don't hear Cruise Director Julie announcing our arrival in Puerto Vallarta!

We will spend New Year's Eve in Cabo San Lucas, New Year's Day in Mazatlán, and Jan 2 in Puerto Vallarta, with 1 day at sea on the way down and 2 days at sea on the way home.

So, has anyone taken this cruise before on Princess? What would you recommend or avoid? If you were on another cruise line, what excursions would you suggest (since they usually overlap)?

We've taken this cruise on the Disney Magic in 2007. We did the dolphins in Cabo--it was very reasonable for kids. In Mazatlán we did a history tour that included some beach time and watching the cliff divers. In Puerto Vallarta, we took a pirate ship to a private beach that included banana boat rides and a pirate show of sorts, as well as breakfast. Each excursion we enjoyed, but Cabo was the best.
Have a great cruise!

P.S. Even though we weren't on Princess, the Magic sailed out of the same pier as the Love Boat and I was humming the song from the moment we arrived.

Thanks! The kids swam with dolphins on our DCL cruise in Cozumel and both have also done beluga interactions at SeaWorld. I know we want to do at least one beach day and I know the kids would love ziplining, but I'm not sure about DH and me. (The kids are 18 and 14.) DD will be on break after her first semester of college, so while we want her to enjoy the excursions/vacations, we will also want to do things as a family. Cool thing is, since she is an adult, she can hang with us in the adult areas while her brother is in the teen club.
