Elementary School (Grades 1 - 4) rode to school with my Dad who taught at the junior high.
Elementary School (Grade 5) walked on pretty days or mom drove us to school.
Elementary School (Grade 6) Dad/mom drove me to my old elementary school and I rode a bus from there to the sixth grade center.
Junior High (Grades 7 - 8) Mom drove me and BFF to school and BFF's mom picked us up.
High School (Grades 9 - 11) Mom drove me to school.
High School (Grades 11 - 12) I drove myself.
My Grandfather drove me until I had my own car and even then he drove me some days too. He always opened our local church for daily mass, dropped me at school, and then attended mass/locked up. It kept him active and when he gave those things up the years caught up with him.
Somedays we would go get a cookie at the bakery while getting fresh bread or a trip to McDonalds. These moments are so vivid and special to me.
