That didn't sound like a good ending to your otherwise good day! Well, aside from the heat.
No, it wasn't a good end at all.

It's sometimes fun to be tourist to that big city nearby, isn't it? We do that in Chicago every so often. And you dont' have to spend a fortune on a hotel. Just parking, which is also a fortune!
Oh boy, I hear you on that one! Fortunately, we have a couple of options on this end of London (south east) where we can park for less than £10 (about $13), which is pretty good going.

More nice events at the games. What a great view you had for the high jump and you got some really nice action photos of it! Too bad with the train situation considering how tired the two of you were. The last thing you wanted to do is wait forever for a train. At least you got seats!

You got amazing pictures of the Athletics! Honestly, I don't know how you lasted as long as you did. I would have collapsed hours ago! Thanks for sharing your great day with us!

I don't know how we kept going either. I think it was a combination of adrenaline and determination, although to be honest, I did consider missing the athletics, but Mark had paid a small fortune for the tickets and they were my birthday present, so I really didn't want to miss it.

Sounds like a mixed bag to the end of your day, with the Athletics being fun to see, but not necessarily having the big-name athletes that you’d like to see. Thanks for sharing your fun and interesting day out with us!

Yes, that's a pretty good summary of how it turned out...
