.....always wanted to be "where the action is" ....so we always asked for the 60's buildings .....1st floor ....poolside.
.....it's "rumored" that those rooms are 'louder' .....which we've NEVER experienced.
.....one year, we were in Building 4 ....room 4112 ....which is closest to the Petals Bar and the Main "Classic" Hall ...and it was wonderful.
....last year we were in the 50's Building #1 .....poolside ....2nd floor .......and it was equally enjoyable. It was the first trip EVER that we had none of our children in the room with us (being that they are now "legally grown" ...and had their own rooms). It was so enjoyable ....and we were right around the corner from the elevator.

I always ask for a top floor to avoid hearing people above me. Other than that, I just leave it to chance. Once year we had the 90's section way in the back. It was a bit of a walk but not too bad, and just so wonderfully quiet. Hey, you're at Disneyworld, how bad can it be?
We have stayed in the 50s, 60s and 70s.... facing the pool ....and facing the lake. We prefer the top floor of the 50s as it is quieter there and there are only my dh and I. The lake views are so relaxing as we exit our room in the morning and some of the buildings have fantastic views of the fireworks. We stayed on New Years Eve this year and, after coming back to our room before midnight (the parks were CROWDED), we could see ALL the fireworks at the stroke of midnight! A fantastic start to 2018!!
I enjoyed our room in 70s we were in building 6 at the lake end facing central courtyard on 1st floor. Since we were in the last room on end of building it was very quiet and didn’t hear anyone above me. It was also a quick walk to Classic Hall.
Our last stay was in the 80s building 7 in the back of beyond.
