My son got his first real job with benefits about three months ago and moved out two months ago. He lives about 25 minutes away. It's been very weird not having him around. I miss him but I'm so proud of him. I know how you're feeling. Good luck to all of you during this transition.
Well, he survived his first full week. Was kinda tired, but it's just getting used to the new routine! He worked harder at the abatement stuff, but that would only be for a couple days and then he would have time off! Seems pretty happy.
Yesterday he found out that he has been approved by the landlords at the apartment where he wants to move. He will probably go in today and sign all the paperwork, etc. And by Friday, he will most likely be moved!! He works 9:30 to 6:30 and then on Mon/Wed/Fri, he has his second job from 8:00-11:00 (although it rarely takes him longer than 2 hours in reality). That means he will have to move a little at a time and get as much done as he can on Tues and Thurs after work. Luckily, he doesn't have a massive amount of stuff to move.
Being "empty nesters" will be really odd for DH and I, but I'm sure there are lots of you out there who have been or are going through the same thing!
