Tide Powder -- I am VERY allergic to petroleum products and that's what makes the liquid, liquid. Also used to use Downey softener until I got blue stains from it that never came out on some favorite clothes. Just to be truly old school I line dry when ever possible (unlike this summer)

I use All liquid detergent, rarely use Snuggles fabric softener because many clothing items now say not to, and Snuggles dryer sheets.

I tried Pods but more times than not left a gelatinous glob on clothes washed in cold water. I switched back to my trusty Tide liquid. Pods were convenient as I was teaching both DD and DS how to do laundry but the globs annoyed me, lol

For detergent I use pods (I love not having to measure or scoop and the easy clean up if the container gets knocked over and spills detergent everywhere) and liquid for fabric softener plus I use dryer balls in the dryer.

Like donna, I make my own. I use dr bronner's liquid soap mixed with salt, baking soda, and water. I used white vinegar in the rinse.

Lately Ive beeen using bar laundry soap and doing all my stuff by hand. I have a spinner I use to get the water out.
