We have made a few adjustments to our upcoming July trip. We have reserved a savanna view room and are wondering what if any room requests we should make? Specifically should we be asking for an upper floor or a lower floor for best experience of the savanna view?
An upper floor you can see a wider area, but the animals are not as close. And of course on a lower floor the opposite is true. We always select the highest floor available, and bring binoculars. To me this also means better views for sunrise / sunset.
Don't let your heart be filled with sorrow, for all you know, tomorrow, the dream that you wish will come true.
I have always thought that the kudo trail - sunset savanna was the best, but I have stayed on the the zebra trail - uzima savanna and we saw many animals on that side! I think the animals roam to different areas throughout the day and evening.
We usually stay on the DVC floor of Jambo House - as we use points to stay. But there were a couple of times I stayed in a lower floor and really enjoyed it - you feel closer to the animals.

I had a Sunset Savanna room off Kudu trail, and an Arusha Savanna view on Zebra trail. 4 th floor.
Myself I prefer Zebra trail because it’s on same side as pool and restaurants. You can just take elevator straight down. On Kudu trail you have to cross lobby to get to the pool etc.
I also prefer a higher room to get the wider perspective. I still was able to see the animals fine.
