late August, or early September

Hi all,
We are looking into a trip to WDW this fall, and have a fairly narrow window due to vacation availability for my DH. How much difference are the crowd levels from end of August to after Labor day weekend? I have looked at the numbers over at the Crowd Calendar page on Touring Plans, but some real life experience would be helpful. Thanks!

Most schools are back in session after Labor Day so its generally less crowded in September. Bad thing about that time of the year is its still very hot and its the rainy/hurricane season.

Back when our kids were young, our favorite time to go was the week of Labor Day. Like Michael said, the crowds are lighter. As for the rain, that seems to happen every time we go -- it's FL! But the storms tend to be quick then over.

We have a mid-September trip planned, but we’ve often visited in August. The weather between the two months is about the same but crowds do thin out in mid-August because of school. And the Food & Wine Festival will begin on 8/30 if that is of interest to you.

And the Halloween party starts in late-ish August, too!
