Typhoon or Blizzard?

So on our last trip, 4 LONG years ago, we splurged a bit and spent a day at Blizzard Beach. Had so much fun, and the lazy river was the most relaxing thing ever. We definitely plan on doing a day this trip, so Id like to hear what your preference is, what the pros and cons are of the water parks, and any advice on maximizing our time if we are staying until about 3pm. Any advice?

Hmmm..I haven't been to either water park since 2008.

But my kids liked Typhoon Lagoon because of the Wave Pool and I like Blizzard Beach because of the family slides.

I am planning a trip for May 2020 and I know both kids (they are in their 20's) will want to got to Typhoon Lagoon. I know the hours are different in May versus summer hours.

I would try to be there as soon as it opens, it can get pretty crowded, especially since you are going during the HOT months.

Have a Great time...and the Water park + Disney too!

I've only done Blizzard Beach, but the two coolest things: Summit Plummet and the chair lift! So nice to not have to climb all the way up (which I did the first time).

We've always preferred Typhoon Lagoon. We've found that Blizzard Beach has too many body slides, which we don't like.

We especially like the lazy river and Crushin' Gusher - their water coaster. We also like the raft rides there. I can't think of anything we didn't like.

Have you compared the attractions list for each park to see which you think appeals more to your group?

Definitely be there for park opening, doing the more popular attractions first since they will have longer lines as the day progresses. Save things like the wave pool and the lazy river for later in the day.

I like Typhoon Lagoon because I can't get enough of the awesome wave pool. I can spend all day in there. The water coasters are fun too and I like the lazy rivers in both parks. Typhoon may be better for older children. Blizzard beach has great theming, may be more fun for little ones as you don't have to contend with the bigger waves of typhoon. Both parks have family raft rides now.

Did you know with a water park ticket you can do both park in one day? So I’d go to the park you haven’t done, get in the must do’s, and then if you’re missing the other park, move there for the afternoon.

We love the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon; it’s so fun! TL also opened a new family raft ride last - Miss Adventure Falls. It is our favorite family raft ride at both water parks.
