As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Seems like you had a nice time at TL. Nice going with the umbrella rental as that was a good choice! I went there once on my second trip to WDW in 2003 and enjoyed it. My problem is that the waits for the water lines were just so long and couldn't experience everything I wanted to.
Like all Disney parks, the key is to rope drop. I think someone might have a touring plan but we basically wing it.
I am honestly going to try to finish up this report before it's the 1 year anniversary of the trip.
The plan for tonight was to go to Disney Springs. I wanted to give Pat and Natalie some alone time and told them they should take the boat to DS. Claire and I were also going to go and we ended up going over with them. Once we got to DS, we went our separate ways. Claire and I had our eye on some Deluxe Burgers and thatís where we headed. I really like the inside of the restaurant and thought the burgers were good.
We stopped by Sprinkles and tried out the cupcake machine YUMMY!!
We then wandered around and went window shopping. We also stopped by Sprinkles and tried out the cupcake machine. Yummy! Claire loved Uniglobe although I thought it was too bright in there. It started to rain so we dodged from building to building. Patrick texted me and asked where we were and we met up with them. They had gone to Blaze and loved the pizza. They also did some shopping and I have so excited that Patrick bought Claire a pair of Mickey earrings and this Disney planner book.
We headed back to POR and called it a day.
Just a little side note. Young love came to an end earlier this year and Pat and Natalie broke up right after Thanksgiving break. I actually didn't find out about it until Feb when Patrick texted me the news in the middle of the night. He didn't tell me sooner because he thought I would be upset. Over winter break I, of course, knew that something was wrong because she wasn't over at all but he kept telling me everything was fine. Oh well, what's meant to be will be.
Good meal and times at Deluxe Burger for you and Claire and Patrick and the others at Blaze! Glad your TR has returned! Not always easy as so much of life interferes at times. I have this as well. Just wish I could get off more than two updates a week. One is guaranteed on Sunday and hope for one mid week, but not always. Don't get home until six pm or so and if I have time can write a little bit over a few days and hope post one. That's why it takes me a good year to complete my extensive TRs. Just wish I could complete faster.
Have Vegas in October and not betting on finishing my 2017 trip before.
Sorry to hear about Pat's breakup with Natalie but it's early in life for these things and will find a great girl down the line as he matures and gets into his 20's when more important!
October 6, 2017-Enjoying an amazing dinner at Victoria & Albert's with PP's Dot and Drew
My TR from my most recent trip is now underway. Includes: Universal Studios Florida, Disney World and Sea World Orlando Trifecta TR -Updated December 10th! TR is now COMPLETED!

That sounds like a really fun night at DS!! Your dinner looks yummy! Sorry to hear about Pat's breakup. We went through this with Sean before he met Jane. He dated a girl for 5 years that we absolutely loved and thought he was going to marry but it all worked out in the end!! Love his gifts to Claire!!
Iím actually surprised I can remember what we did but thank goodness I still have my spreadsheet with my plans. I do know that by this time, Patrick was finally getting in the groove of things and actually having a good time. We did make it to rope drop At Hollywood Studios. As you can see it was pretty crowded.
We did the mad dash with a thousand of our friends over to TSMM.
I was upset with Claire because she doesnít like to be aggressive and was letting everyone in front of her. I let her know this and she got upset with me. Letís just say, I rode the ride by myself. Yes w,e were THAT family. After the ride was over we made amends it was off to our favorite roller coaster. Iím not sure if it had been down before we got there, but it had a bit of a wait and the wait ended up being much longer. When we got to the loading platform we asked to be seated in the front. We are tending to do this more and more since the ride is always smoother in the front cars. After RNR, we headed over to use our 1st FP of the day at ToT. Claire doesnít do this ride, but I think itís mine and Patrickís favorite. Then it was back to TSMM to use our 2nd FP. This time all was good with mother and daughter! We wandered over to TGMR. Iím really really going to miss that ride!
Lunch I believe was at Backlot Express. We really like the food there. We then used our 2rd FP at Star Tours. I sometimes get motion sickness from Star Tours but this time I didnít. After lunch we headed out of the park and back to POR.
We went to the pool for a bit (or at least I did) and then got ready for our dinner at Cape May Cafe. This restaurant has been a must do for every trip. We decided to drive over to the Beach Club and then after dinner, take the boat back to Hollywood studios. After checking in at the podium we didnít have that long to wait. They went to seat us in the side room like they do every time we go, but I wasnít having it and requested not to be seating in there. Of course my kids had a fit because I was embarrassing them. The buffet was yummy as usual and we of course overate.
We then started to walk over to Hollywood studios but I think we went the wrong way and then decided just to take the boat. We went to Star Wars Launch Bay. Once again, Patrick didnít think he was going to enjoy it, but being a Star Wars fan he most certainly did!
We walked around and then it was time to get a spot for the fireworks and show before. As we were waiting I got a text from my next door neighbor telling me my dog was wandering around outside and our side door had been opened. She was able to get him back in. I was then very nervous because I thought our 2 cats might have gotten out. My husband was still at work and couldnít leave. I asked her if she could check inside to see if she could see them, but Buddy, our dog, was apparently in watch dog mode. This totally ruined my night, worrying about the cats and I decided that we should just leave and go back to our room. Of course it was for naught. By the time we got back, my husband got home and yes the cats were safe inside. Yes, I have a worrying issue.
What an awesome DHS day!! Your dinner at Cape May Cafť looks wonderful as well!! So sorry about your animals but they are truly like kids and I totally get your worrying about them. I can't decide if your neighbor did a good thing by calling you or not but I am sure that she meant well and it was nice of her to get your dog. Glad all was well in the end.
