Duck Addict\'s Guide Bio

My name is Donald (though I go by Don)

I live in Northern California, about 100 miles north of Sacramento, in a town called Paradise (yes it is!). I am a retired government worker, currently age 70. I am single, never married.

My logon name reflects my love of Donald Duck. My introduction to him was by Disney cartoons preceding the Disney movies. My first movies were 20,000 leagues, Lady and the Tramp, the true life adventures. My mother would not (NO) let me watch Mickey Mouse club because she did not believe a kid should be parked in front of a TV at 4 in the afternoon. However, my aunt solved the problem. Caring for me and my brother while my parents looked for a new home and hometown, I got to see my first color tv and all my cousins watched MMC. She and my uncle had bought me Donald Duck Orange Juice, DD Bread and DD soda! I was hooked! (That is why I say I am 9—that was my age then.)I have been to DL MANY times, my first being with my Grandmother at 16…andwhile I was stationed in San Diego it was almost a monthly event. My first WDW trip was in the 1990. I have just completed my 9th trip. I have done 3 Disney Cruises (two 4 day on the Wonder and one 7 day Western Caribbean on the Disney Magic. I have also done a non-Disney Alaska (same ports ) cruise and cruises to the Southern Caribbean, Eastern Caribbean, Western Caribbean, Panama Canal, New England, Hawaii, and a river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest as well as a Britain/Wales/Ireland/Scotland land tour.
