Just wondering what kind of shoes all the women wear when at Disney. I personally don't feel comfortable in sneakers and am trying to find the best shoes, sandal whatever to wear in April. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have a pair of Skechers sandles (they are called Bikers). I also rotate with a pair of little white gym shoes from Target (just like Keds, but way cheaper). Last year August, I wore my Skechers in the daytime and switched to gym shoes in the evening.
I just ordered two pairs of Easy Spirit Traveltime shoes. They are sort of like sneakers, but with open backs so they can be worn sockless (which is good for me because I don't like how I look in shorts and socks). I haven't broken them in yet, but for the little bit I wore them around the house they are SO comfy, like walking on air--as comfy as slippers but with support.
I also find flip flops very comfortable but if I walk too long in them my arches do ache a bit.
The key for me is to bring two pairs of comfy shoes--because even the most comfy pair bothers me if I wear them for several days in a row with the amount of walking we do at wdw.
I used to get the most horrible open blisters on my feet during trips to Disney. Then I discovered Columbia walking sandals which I love. I have never had a blister since. Also they are great during rain storms or water rides as they dry quickly. I agree that socks and teva or other type sandals look geeky but its a great system for blister defense. I try to use those little peds type socks so at least I can attempt to convince myself I'm not as unhip as I am. LOL Though the first time I wore socks and sandals I was reminded of my Grandma.LOL
I usually bring a couple pair of Keen walking sandals and alternate. They've got just the right amount of arch support and cushion. And they dry quickly in rainstorms so I can keep on truckin' through the puddles.
I just bought a new pair of Tevas though and can't wait to try them out. They are CUSHY!
