Question Kids Life Jackets in Water Parks?

Hello everyone!

I was wondering if anyone knew if the water parks supplied life jackets/arm bands for non swimming kids? We have a DD7 who is in the early stages of learning to swim but is still quite afraid of the water (however she still wants to go to the parks for the slides etc) and a toddler who can't swim but has no fear. We prob won't spend a huge amount of time in the water parks but as we're staying on International Drive and have Orlando flex tickets it will be an option for us at least once. We don't have water parks on our disney tkts so we won't be heading there.

So i wanted to know if they are supplied and if so do we have to rent/are they free or do i supply my own?

thanks so much for your help!

Jayne xx

I don't know the answer to your question. Sorry.
I have 2 - 4 year olds who like to "swim" but can't yet, and they are very independent. When we went in January, we packed our own and took them with us for swimming in our resort pool, so that they could be "independent", stay above water. We were travelling with car seats, so I found car seat bags and put their life jackets in them.

Most waterparks do supply lifejackets for free. They usually require some form of ID, such as DL, to check the lifejacket out.

You can bring your own Coast Guard approved jackets. They will not allow flotation devices, such as water wings or tubes, that are not CG approved.

We went to Aquatica (Sea World's water park) in April. They have several different sizes of life jackets hanging on racks around the park. They were free, you just picked out the right size, put it on, had fun, and took it off and hung it back up before you left. My girls (6 & 7) wore theirs all day - as they were always jumping in and out of the different pools, etc.

What about those swim suits that have the flotation device built in to the shirt--I can't think of the name..and we don't own one...but I"ve considered buying one for my ds who is 6. Do you know if those can be used in the waterparks or resort pools?

Some waterparks will allow them if the suit is Coast Guard approved. The water park I worked at did not allow them, even if they are CG approved. I would call the waterpark or check the website before purchasing the suit.
