AAA vs Disney online

We are planning on booking a vacation within the next week. My in-laws belong to AAA so we could book through them or just book directly on Disney's site. Is there any benefit to booking through AAA besides the discount at Mini golf and Planet Hollywood (which we are not planning to go to) and diamond parking. I am really trying to increase my changes of getting a PIN code so I figure my odds are better if I book directly through Disney.

i get tons of pin codes and i only book through AAA. Usually their discount is better than the Disney online. if my TA can get a better deal through Disney she goes with their rate instead, so for me i get the best of both worlds. BTW, my TA has them check to see what pins/offers are attached to my reservation to see if there were better that they sent but the card got lost in the mail or email is wandering in cyberspace.

Just so you know if you book your flight thru AAA even as a member they charge you a fee for booking flights. I have done both over the years and personally like to do things myself now. I dont like to have to go thru an agent just to call Disney and ask about my reservation. And you can always get a AAA discount thru Disney but you have to mention it when you book, alot of times the packages Disney has is cheaper than a AAA discount.

tOur last trip I went thru AAA and it took forever for me to get my travel paperwork. I went back this year booking it myself. For me it isn't worth the hassle and I book with a pin code so the AAA discount is not useful for me. Having said that if I was to not book with a pin code I would go back to AAA. I got all the same discounts that I goy when I booked with Disney that I get when I book with AAA(Planet hollywood, minigolf, etc). The only thing I got extra was a picture frame from AAA. We also did not recieve my parents DME package...we had booked her package at the same time and they are also a members of AAA but had a seperate room. It could be our AAA too, the TA knew nothing about Disney, I should of been selling him the vacation.
FYI...if you are not booking with a pin code I would book thru AAA they do give a better discount than Disney offers you if you are booking a Magic Your Way Package. AAA can take the discount off the whole package(at least mine can) where as Disney could only do a room ressie discount.
I would call & see who offers the better AAA discount, but that is just me! I would also ask Disney if there is any pin codes attached to your name when you call for the AAA discount quote.
GL!

We used to have AAA. The only benefit we felt 1. Story book time with a Disney character 2. Diamond pass. Other than that nothing, I found great. Due to my OCD with disney I can't seem to let myself put it into someone's hands again.

I booked our last stay for hotel through AAA only. It was a lot cheaper then using the codes. I'll probably do this again next year.

I've found with AAA, it's dicey. there are some AAA agents familiar with WDW booking, and can get you good rates, others, not so much. There is a great AAA TA on this board, Jennifer 2003. If I was booking AAA I'd use her.
I live on the west coast, and not many CAA here know WDW. I asked for a quote from a local CAA agent here that was advertised as a WDW specialist, and gave me a quote higher then WDW web site.

I have AAA and had a similar experience; depending on the package AAA either quoted same or higher price.

Thanks everyone. I think I will get on the phone and get some quotes. My mom usually books the trips through AAA but this is the first time I am booking the trip.

I've done both and you do get a nice discount through AAA. If a promo is announced and it's better than your AAA discount, the TA can switch it for you. I have a great AAA TA, so everything is always well taken care of

I have never booked air through AAA though...we always do Southwest or Jetblue and I don't think any travel agents deal with them.

edited to add....Jennifer2003 is who I use! She's the best!!

My first trip (last year) to WDW was booked through AAA. Not only did we get really cheap airfare. We got free dining and a coupon book for all kinds of free stuff. I thought we got a pretty good deal considering the price we paid with AAA was the exact same price that was quoted through the WDW website! Totally worth it too me and I made my own ADRs. I'll book my next trip (December 2011) through AAA too!
